    Hello
I am trying to rank for "Teenage Love'. Is it better to make the title "Teenage love advice" or just the keyword only. I mean if I keep the keyword only will that hurt the serps? Which is better????:confused::confused::confused:

Personally I would use "Teenage Love Advice". It won't hurt to have extra characters plus your title is more descriptive. Remember that your title/description are like classified ads on the search results. So while you want keywords it also has to give browsers a reason to click the link.

    Hope this helps!

I agree with the above, you might also want to do some keyword research and add one or two more words in there too as ranking for more keywords will improve traffic.

Sorry - but this, I don't agree with.

First, you should write your page for people, not Google. If people like your site, and they find your content relevant, you will naturally get backlinks, and therefore high SERP.

You should be focusing each page on a small set of related keywords. Don't stuff more keywords in a page for no reason.

Of course, I may be misinterpreting what regencytimberbuildings is suggesting.

Well My serp has jumped from 25 to 15 after I changed "Teenage Love" to "Teenage Love Advice". But it can be due to 1way links I built recently. But google shows no links. Very confusing. I thought being to the point will give better results.

Google does not show all backlinks, not even 10% of them, so better use Yahoo Site Explorer.

Also, it is recommended to have at least 3-5 words in your Title tag, not just 1-2 words.
    So try something like:
    "Teenage Love Advice | YourDomain.com"

Don't worry dtm32236, I'm actually helping you out here by providing you with some reinforcements. :)

bubaipal, why don't you take a minute or two to sit down and read Why Writing for Spiders is the Least Sticky Strategy of All? It'll really open your eyes on what to do as far as writing on the Web is concerned.

It would be better if you can use different variation of your keywords.

that is because google don't want the site competitors to see all the backlinks .. for full backlinks you can use google webmaster tools

    Good link, Dan. Thanks.

True. I often use this Keyword Suggestion tool by Trillian:
    http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/search.html

You type in keywords you want to use, and it will show you how many people search for it. This way, you won't use keywords that no one is searching for.

Try variations as suggested by some of the people above. In my experience Google reacts quickly to changes in the title tag - about 1 week latency. If something doesn't work, change it slightly until you see an improvement.
