Intelligence isn't the issue. Education is. There are lots of lazy stupid people who could be smart motivated people with the right attitude.

Socialists love that stuff though, because they think that central planning works. They love being able to issue one decree and have everyone live under it, regardless of special, cultural, racial, demographic etc differences.

    Not in the least.

I know some university's have presidents who will fire teachers based on student feedback. In turn teachers dumb-down courses and make tests quite easy.

the guy was asking mostly children and the senile. It's no surprise that an 11 year old child isn't going to know about international currency and global politics and a 90 year old man wont be able to name a current British car manufacturer.

LOL, i fail to finish high school in Hong Kong and i finished my CS degree with 3.7 GPA in one of the better public college in NYC (with my broken English too). The math i studied in 10th grade is equal to Calculus 2 in College.

I have to agree American student are more creative but most of them have no discipline at all

and the culture glorify loser, bully and beauty queen in HS. Just look at all those movie and music..

I'm not basing my opinion from the videos and links, but I don't think the info is wrong either. Don't you trust statistics from BBC, NY Times or National Geographic Channel?
It is my honest conclusion after observing thousands of them. On the other hand, I work with an American and before him I worked with another American, a retired CEO. All I can say is that both men are highly intelligent; there's no way I would be able to find such types here. The difference between an educated person - who had the luck to have parents who could afford an education of a couple of $100,000 - and the rest is not only extreme but also dangerous and most of all unjust.

One other major difference between Americans and say Europeans is that Americans are specialized in one or a few fields; Europeans tend to have a better overall knowledge.

The problem lies in the system, not the IQ of Americans. North Africans who have colonized Europe seem to score much worse on tests than white Europeans. That is a totally different story, since they get the same education as us. Asians are smarter than Europeans. So be it.

I met a guy from Belgium once, a complete uneducated dumbass. He used "YouTube videos" to paint broad generalizations of an entire class of people based on a few people he met in life.

    What a dumbass.

No kidding. One thing though, I decided I can't blame the entire country just for that one guy being stupid. That would be too small minded.

Entirely agreed. It would be another story if you'd met say 1000 Belgians and visited the country.

In the American version I think they talk to three illegal aliens, a redneck and a homeless guy.

Just fess up that when it comes to America, you're an unabashed, non-critical thinking, stereotype embracing hater. You couldn't be anything else having posted that map you posted earlier. If you'd spent less than 5 minutes being curious about it you would have found out that it was a map that showed "Average IQ of indigenous populations according to Lynn (2006)".

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_Differences_in_Intelligence

It's right there in the caption of the image in its original context. But you didn't question it for a second because it reinforced your chauvinist views.

This is just anecdotal, but if this thread is any indication, I think the Americans are winning when it comes to intelligence.

Totally disagree. 1,000 Belgians aren't a statistically significant enough group for me to judge an entire nation on.

Indeed it's anecdotal evidence, but I've noticed the same. As a matter of fact, we Americans are winning on so many levels we might just be dealing with "sour grapes".
