I completely disagree on beating students, they should be stucked in jails. They are paid for teaching not beating.
Now they I am a parent of a 9 and 10 year old I sure understand why they would want to beat the kids - I can't imagine having to take care of a lot of them at one time AND get them to learn something, BUT what are they trying to teach them by hitting them? Bottom line is it's wrong, there is never any reason to hit a kid, EVER!
I do not agree with corporal punishment. I think it's best to just explain to the chid what he has done wrong rather than beat them up.
One other thing I am going to tell you is that even the Principle of our school beat students. Like he enters the classroom and a student is doing something wrong, he will beat him more than the teachers do. So...? If the Principle do it then the teachers will sure do it.
maybe in pakistan that is legal..in the u.s the students can have the right to file a case to the teacher...and for me, it's not right to beat the students..they will not learn more in that way..
I'm going to go against the grain here. I support a smack or slap in the case of bad behavior or lack of respect/discipline. To "beat" a child suggests a repeating assault something any normal person wouldn't support. I do think , there are too many undisciplined youths in our society today. (Oh and Btw I'm 19)
I support that too. But its not a slap or smack here. They will beat you (like hell) with stick OR slap you many times for a very small mistake.
Like in schools in England about 50 years ago when the cane was pretty common ( I support that) . In schools today , quite frankly its a shambles. Teachers have been bullied,harmed and thats why there is a serious lack of teachers in the UK. Beating a kid , for a small mistake is wrong and won't benefit anyone.

Is legal, and for some reason acceptable in some countries, but I still think is wrong for teachers to beat kids. Is still abuse no matter what the situation is. Some kids now that when a teacher or parent hits them, they would threaten to pick up the phone and call the cops... Although I am against beating a child, I do agree with that. Some youths do take it too far nowadays.
