I have a site that had been receiving around 1300 unique visitors per day, but things changed after friday and I can't figure it out. I had 1208 visitors on friday, and then it dropped to 332 on Saturday and 305 on Sunday. 90% of my traffic is organic Google traffic, but my keyword positions haven't really changed. Maybe just a temporary drop in searches for my keywords? Seems odd to me. Not much I can do since my keywords are still ranking well. Probably just an couple day lull.
You would need to review where those visitors were coming; however it is not uncommon to see a large drop in traffic over the weekend, especially when it starts warming up in the USA.
Er maybe somebody is geo-targetting where all your traffic was coming from....all i can think of or maybe heavy ppc marketting from other companies?
Not to go too off topic, but do you read the actual OP's questions before you answer? How would heavy PPC marketing lower the natural organic traffic average of a keyword or phrase.
A lot of people have experienced a wipeout in all data centers except the US and vice-versa, this would explain "you" seeing the same positions but 3/4 of the planet not having you in the top 100. Try your positions in http://72.14.253.104/ and http://216.239.51.81/ Still ranking the same?
Well Monday's traffic was 418 uniques and Tuesday was 407. That's down over 1000 uniques from Friday to Monday. I double checked my keywords and they're all within the top 12 on Google. I guess I'll just keep updating the site and see what happens.
My sites have dropped about 30% of their normal organic traffic in the last few days. I think the great googly one is up to something...
I do use Analytics, and I don't show any pages being lost. I guess the hard truth of it might be that people just aren't searching for my keywords at the moment...i guess it happens.
Yes, something is happening to me too. For a term, I was #2 and #3 now I'm not on the front page so sad am I
