Is it a form of SEO to have a meta description for every post on my blog than letting google collect phrases from my blog when indexing my pots? i have a meta description only for my home page, should i add a decription for every post? would it increase my popularity in Google?
That will definetly help you, the more info you write to the bot, the better placement youll get in relation to your keywords. And in the worst case, it won't harm you to add descriptions for each post. What's important is that you make each description unique, do not copy and paste because that won't help you at all. If you see how blogger works(belongs to google), they only allow you to write metatags in the home page, and " labels " for each post. Those labels work as description for each blog. Hope this helps/ Good Luck
thanks for the reply lepud and talmid. @talmid:i already use tags for my posts, so is it necessary to add a description as well then?
Yes, every web document should contain a meta description element with an accurate short summary of the web page.
Very important, not only does it give your blog post it's only unique quick summary this is the text displayed under search results on search engines.
