Will i get into any legal issues with the Official Site IPLT20.com if i start any one of those and make it a IPL Cricket score/News site? I wont be making a dupe of the official site or something..just my own design..my own content..but in the same genre of IPL. I need someone how knows about this to guide me on this asap. Thank you very much in advance guys ALSO: If is search here...IPLT20 gives me no results...that mean's it aint trademarked yeah? Anyone with some legal knowledge...help please?
what I think is it would cause legal problems, as it clashes with original domain they've booked. Although if you had something like iplforum.com or iplblog.com something, that wouldn't mattered at all. -Raghav
who cares... just buy them and if they say to take your site down than do so ... all this will surely bring in some traffic as you have violated laws use this traffic for your new alternative domain
Hehee..the thing is they have Trademarked/Copyrighted DLF Indian Premier League and not the term "IPLT20". So how can that cause me legal problems? And to what extent?
lol true ... , I think you should go ahead ..see they'll ask you to take it down(nicely) before dragging you to the court..so no problem. Anyway you run warez etc, run it same way lol
why are you still confused dude..?? go for it see..if they ask you to take those down the matter will surely come into news and the publicity you get with that can be used to drag the readers to your new website of IPL get the point this is black hat but it will work..
they won't buy...but they will ask you to take them down just because of copyright laws.. so I still suggest to start using them unless some1 raises a question.....
currently its banned by bcci to cover ipl on websites without royalty but iplt20 domain name can be used moreever if you get it registered on a foreign company , ipl would be over by the time any action can be taken
IPL isn't the talk of just this month.... it will continue over the years to come and surely will be included in the ICC calendar
IPLT20 is not a trademark, so you're free to use it. I would recommend that you put a disclaimer page and put "Fan Site" in the title. PM me if you want a partner for developing it.
Phewwwwwwww! That was a BIG relief! And thanks for the suggestion about the "Fan Site" thing. I'll do that If anyone else got any issues they know could arise..please do lemme know
Thanks, even I own 3 domains related to IPL, 2 of them contain a team name (exact team name without any extra words, dashes etc.), so I've done a bit of research on this. Delhi DareDevils will own everyone
