I you want a high page rank you need to make exchange with websites who have the same containt like you
pr is better and you get traffic i have a blog in which i used to post daily for 3 month it got pr3 and after 4 months of i am still getting 200 visitors per day and my last post was in dec 2007
PR is next to nothing my site was PR4 and was getting 500 uniques a day the last 4 months it has dropped to PR0 and now to PR2 but now I am getting 1000 uniques a day what do you make of that ??
1) More backlinks = more PageRank. 2) Backlinks with your specific keyword as the anchor text = better SE rankings for that particular keyword. Higher PageRank does not necessarily mean good SE rankings and vice versa.
I have a blog that i seldom update but the PR is 4 while the blog that I update daily (get more traffic) has PR2. I don't really get it on how they get those numbers? for me PR is important because advertisers prefer high PR blog.
It all depends on what you seek or believe. The actual thing that matters me is ROI, What drives me nuts? A website with pr 4 or pr5 and wouldn’t be able to get good enough traffic Earning peanuts (cents per day) even after getting 100 - 200 u/day traffic Good rankings for silly keywords. I personally think whatever we target to achieve it should yield some return on investment (it could be either monetary or other self satisfactory. what ever you reach (pr or positions) make sure you earn something out of it)
A PR 0 could have a better position than a PR 5 because the pages are selected from the content at first. For two pages with an equal content, the PR is used to choose the first. All misunderstanding about PR come from webmasters do not know the difference between: 1) selection of page 2) position of selected pages. PR is great (but content is greater)
Wouldn't this also constitute that you also have no clue about rankings with a comment like this? Either that, or something is hindering your ability to read
You are exactly right. Alexa's numbers are totally meaningless. Using your second illustration (240K Alexa from only 100 visitors a day), by comparison, my site gets 1,600 visitors a day, but Alexa is only 545K. DPers could probably give thousands of similar anomalies. Ignore Alexa.
maybe the PR hasn't updated for them yet. Thing is if your page is high in google is it going to have a lot of good links to it. That will naturally give it some pagerank.
