I know there are a fair few indians on DP, not sure if they hang out in general chat but anyway;
Why do so many indians hate andrew symonds apart from that he 'looks like a monkey'? What has he done that other aussie cricketers haven't?
I was suprised even yesterday at the IPL, he's on a team with half indians and the indian crowd still boos him. What's the deal?
I'm assuming the americans here will have no idea what I'm talking about haha.

I am an Indian and as far as i know no body hates him due to his looks..the only reason could be - he snatches win from India's hands every time he comes to bat
He was the second highest auctioned player in IPL so i don't think any one hates him

and I LOVE Andrew Symonds... He is an aggressive cricketer.I like it..
and We as Indians always support Indians...but Andrew is a nice person.. All try to win matches for their own country.

 

well thats fair enough but i mean he walked out yesterday at the IPL and you could hear a different crowd chant with boos, the commentator mentioned 'as usual he doesn't receive a warm reception'.
Second highest auction player? I thought he was the top. Who was the highest?

 

Maybe he has to go in a bollywood duo with Brett Lee till everyone loves him haha

Its not that all the Indians dislike Symonds. He is a great player of Cricket, but, a little aggressive in nature.
And, you can't deny that he should have showed some patient in Harbhajan case.

@ kanwarjot, he is the third, after Dhoni and I Sharma.

 

I am also Indian and big cricket fan,Symonds is one of the best player and he is also in my favourite IPL Team (Deccan Chargers).

Abhi,he was 4th after Dhoni,Gilchirst,I.sharma.

No, he was second only to Dhoni. Symmonds went for about 5.4 crores while Dhoni went for 6 crores. Ishant Sharma went for about 3.8 crores if I'm not wrong. Dunno about Gilchrist, but he was lesser than Symmonds.

 

I'm also from Hyderabad.. and Andrew is playing for our team.. Deccan Chargers..
our chargers definetly defeat the Delhi Daredevils tomorrow..

 

Yes.Andrew is second after M.S.Dhoni. Gilly and Ishant are less the the Symonds.
