Do you use Google Webmaster Tools?

There you can see if your site has been indexed and where, under what search terms and all kinds of other info.

I believe, from what I have heard from others in the biz, is that you can see DRASTIC changes such as sandboxing from those tools.

Also you can do an index search for your site. Google this [site: yousiteurl] then you get results of all your indexed and listed pages.

    Hope that helps!

Your site will still be indexed even if it is sandboxed. What you will see is that your site will rank poorly for competitive search terms. Example, if your sites targets "Verizon Cell Phones" your rank will be penalized by google.

There really is no way to tell for certain that you have been sandboxed, it's more of a matter that your site will see reduced traffic. With a little experience you'll know.

I think one indication is if your site doesnt appear for a search for itself in Google (like, searching for "www.mysite.com" and not seeing your site show up).

Sorry everyone but what DeMerchant said is true. If your site got sandboxed, it doesn't mean your site get deindexed. If you can't find your site completely in Google, it means your site is being de-indexed, not sandboxed.

deindexing of sites means that google has banned permanently from its index. there are hardly no thing to do. this is the worsest thing a webmasters deal with. The best sollution is missing this domain names. Some google bans can last for years. I experienced it on a domain.

Sandbox means dramatic hit loss of your site from a searh engine (especially google). in order to check sandbox, you must enter into google to your web names (LLLL.com). When you can not see your web sites in first page. This is probably sandbox. To improve your sandbox theory you may search your content on google. if it not seen in first page. it is quite probable that your site is got into sandbox.

Sometimes google gives warn some websites for mostly link spamming. You can not evaluate as sandbox. It is more ease than sandbox. you can get some hits. But your hits dropped % 70 and above.

The better thing to get ride of sandbox is waiting for a while. Google likes sandboxed sites that are in inertia. This is my experiences. You may or may not agree on it.

Not sure if this is right or wrong but i heard that newly registered domains are automatically sandboxed. However, as mentioned earlier about typing your domain in google and if it is not at the top its sandboxed i dont think that is right, well not IMHO and the expereinces i have had. If your not at the top for your domain once it has initally been registered with google the chances are you have been deindexed. That is exactly what happened to me, i added my url, within a week i was being indexed (my domain at the top) got a double content penalty domain not at the top anymore.

    Just my opinion.

Then, the domain has even been banned by Google, rather than being put into a sandbox.:)

    Hello!

I have a site that wasat the fisrt position about 3 years ago. But, about 5 month ago, fell to the lastest position.

Now I discover that in the page result of Google and Yahoo, my site haven´t got the link CACHED, to watch the page cached in Google.

Anyone know why? I´m banned by Google? I´m in the sandbox?

If your site is banned by Google, it won't be indexed by Google anymore.

Many people have wrote that a site will often rank high then drop into what appears to be almost a black hole. :) A couple of more weeks may tell the story for you.

That has been my experience as of this weekend. I put up a new site and received traffic from google the very next day. That lasted for a couple weeks and now I've only received one visitor for google and it was for like a 10 word long tail keyword. Great... :D

I am not seeing this happen. But I'm not using anything close to 10 word long keyword phrases. Is that a good idea?

er no lol, whats the odds of someone typing in such a long keyword. As mentioned above i have had the same trouble, new site getting excellent serps then after a couple weeks disappeared into oblivion. Guess thats just how google works.
