Google has done a lot for the internet, this doesn't seem a very fair way of repaying them

They do not ban people for no reason.....you might as well write the police arrest nothing but innocent people.

    August 2005 Aug 31 Earnings (Aug 1 - Aug 31)

I've been a publisher for almost 3 years and never had a problem with Adsense.

In my past life as an investigator we had a rule of thumb.

10% of the people will never steal or try to scam someone or a company.

10% of the people are thieves and con men nothing will change that.

The other 80% are fence riders.....they won't steal or scam unless they see an opportunity or are faced with dire consequences....

Given that most see Google Yahoo CJ and others as faceless entities worth billions...most do not mind trying to scam them for temporary riches.... it is very feasible most were banned for good reason.....

Yes they have done a ton of spying. Have you read everything about your google....don’t get me wrong I don’t hate google. I just think they need to work on their customer service skills. Their policy on they can’t tell anyone anything is crap. Tell us why your doin such n such.

    Here read these:
    http://www.google-watch.org/bigbro.html
    http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2006/11/google.html
    http://searchengineland.com/070101-215524.php

There are tons more out there (BTW none of those are my sites)

Semi Advance- Sure people get arrested but they are told WHY they were arrested. Why not tell people more than "you are a risk to the advertiser"....
That’s like saying ok kids, your all going to jail....You’re a risk to stealing something in the future....
    Absolutely absurd....

Yeah I might have to pass on this one. The only thing it will achieve is a loss of earnings for a day. That's hardly going to prove a point.

You just use something else like cj or adbrite, or whatever other company out there. Who knows maybe that day you will like the results of another company better. Every site is different and some ads work better than others....

I agree with the thread starter!

In the end Google is all about the $$$ just like other companies. They are not a charity organization and not looking out for publishers. They will do what is in their best interest to increase their profit! Unless they are put under pressure they will only continue to lower payouts and not be transparent about their practices while the small publishers only get pennies on the dollar.

Actually you are a bit confused......

No business needs to tell anyone how they secure themselves from threats.......Not Google, Microsoft, and I am sure yours does not either.

Secondly Google doesn't force anyone to publish their ads.

Next Google bans for attempting to defraud Google, not the advertiser. Google gets paid by the advertiser whether or not there is any fraud or errors.

Poor performance for advertisers, is dealt with by lowering the amount paid to the publisher.

Just because people do not understand how a casino operates, is not a reason to try and bury the casino.

It is a good reason to spend time and learn how it works, or to hire a professional who does. ;)

Making outlandish statements without any fact, is equal to sitting and saying the sky is falling, or the world is going to end last week.

A blackout? You got to be kidding me. Hypothetically, 100 publishers on Digital Point does in fact pull their ads. Guess what, theres 10s of thousands of other publishers who dont visit DP that will have their ads on the site. That would mean the blackout would represent ~0.0001% of impressions being lost. That wouldnt even show up as a blip on the Google radar; in fact, participating publishers will lose out in this plan of action. Good idea, but the reach is very poor.

Will Google even care about it? With only thousands of people removing ads, there are still millions of publishers out there around the world.

I feel like I should roll on the floor laughing. Its very interesting that none of the replies here are against Google. And some said the OP will have no reach to take his blackout to people.

I suggest what, if you wanna a better reach to take your blackout, why not try using Adwords? HAhaha.....:D:p

    LOL

Repay Google? Every publisher that uses Adsense is paying Google with every click that they get. More clicks = more money for Google. And it seems they are taking more and more of a share each day. I have heard of someone getting a negative click, meaning they actually lost money. Google are looking out for #1 maybe you should do the same ;)

I think Google (Adsense) is best to earn a handsom share through sites.
