OpenOffice from openoffice.org not only is it free, you can import your word.doc files in and openoffice has a built in PDF creator that works wonderfully!

also for those on windows who don't want to install openoffice, there is CutePDF which lets you print anything to PDF.

This is a very complete suite of applications but for a quick job there is small freeware utility at dopdf.com

Yes, another printer-like driver enabling the creation of PDF files from almost any installed program with printing capabilities.

Search Google for "PDFill PDF Writer" - it's a free print driver that will convert any document to PDF.

google primopdf or use google docs---this latter is google's free document editing stuff online, including a pdf conversion tool which allows you to keep anchortext links in the pdf (unlike most free conversion programs)

I use the standard adobe professional 8. It came with the adobe creative suite and I just updated it. It's pretty awesome.

If you happen to have Word 2007, you can download an add-in that will allow you to covert to PDF.
