No. it certainly cannot be so. A chargeback is a request for a refund of one or more transactions and the customer can request for only up to what is being paid. Of course, the chargeback if real may be in regards to a different different transaction.
Oh right, it's a credit card chargeback make any difference? The amount is $9.99 & chargeback amount is $90+ USD
A Chargeback is an option provided by the bank to its credit card customers and thus a chargeback only relates to a credit card, no other payment options have chargeback. No, it is still not possible unless it relates to some older transaction. Usually banks allows their customers the ability to request for a chargeback for up to a period of 180 days with justification. A chargeback can be up to the amount which was previously charged. Of course that is not to take into account the fees that the bank may charge for a chargeback request.
This sounds like you have some confusion between the chargack transaction, it cud be for some other transaction, check your details.
Heres screenshots: http://www.seofriendlydirectory.com/PP1.JPG http://www.seofriendlydirectory.com/PP2.JPG http://www.seofriendlydirectory.com/PP3.JPG I've only had 1 previous chargeback for a few dollars in the 4 years i have had a paypal account, the other dispute i just let the buyer get away with it due to the small fee, the same would apply here if they just wanted $9.95. Am i missing something since i don't normally deal with chargebacks?
I would certainly go by the first two screen which shows the charge back for the about of $9.95 . It is possible that the card holder got his credit card stolen and he made a total dispute of $91.75 with Paypal of that amount, $9.95 is for your products and the remaining for some other people's product. The guy was probably busy using the card holder account.
Decided to dispute it anyway, regardless of outcome. I know the card has not been stolen as the service brought was to benefit the persons own business, the URL's/email address verify this.
I just did ask paypal, good idea, i just can't figure it out & also this person has not brought any other goods or services other than the $9.95, odd.
This is the first time when I'm hearing something like that. Weird. Anyways, contact PayPal and see what they have to say on this. It can be a mistake at paypal's end.
Now this is really a strange case, never heard of any chargeback amount more than item under dispute. Why don't you contact Paypal its quite evident there is some error.
for the amount of $9.99 the maximum amount can be + $10 on chargeback fees so the total could be $19.99.. but it cant be $90.... no way.... i am sure there has been more chargeback made from you... please post proof if you dont mind....
Like I said, it is most likely that the guy chargeback several transactions which includes the OP's since on the credit card, it would show Paypal as the Merchant. So it is likely that you are not the only one he is doing a chargeback against.
