I apologize if this question has been answered a million times before, but can you achieve PR with backlinks alone? I know content has a role in determining how you rank within serps, but does content on your site have anything to do with PR?
Of course lol. There's a huge market for selling links, so theres no wrong reason of getting a piece of the pie for myself too. :]
good luck.. Links will help, but you will need time for updates to push you up. Might be better off buying a site with pr already
PR is based mostly on Backlinks PR is just a number is worthless PR not equals traffic learn this realitys and you will be readdy for the next level ....
I know PR alone wont bring in traffic, but people still value investing to bring PR to their sites. But if PR is mainly based on backlinks, then I guess I have my answer. :]
Pagerank is not mainly based on backlinks - it is only based on backlinks PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at considerably more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; for example, it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important." Using these and other factors, Google provides its views on pages' relative importance. http://www.google.com/technology/ but all backlinks are not equal.
An absolute YES. However, make sure you focus on backlinks from pages that already have PR. Getting PR from PR0 or n/a pages is possible but... you need a lot of volume and sometime to get your PR up based on these pages.
The most important factor for PR is the backlinks, so I guess yes, you can achieve PR with backlinks alone.
Backlinks are important, but good keywords are also very important, so people can find your site when they search.
