    Hi Mods
A quick question if I may.
I have a thread offering my writing services. I know that 'bumping up' is not allowed. Obviously as my thread goes further and further down the list, the less chance I am going to have of someone wanting my services.
Two things: first, is there any way around this, and second, would it be possible to start another thread saying that I offer services but instead of writing everything I had on the original thread, just add a link to it? For example, the post would look like this:

    Writing services available, blah, blah.
    Check out my thread at:
    forums.digitalpoint/whatever/wherever/etc

    Would that be acceptable?

You have to request your previous thread to be closed if you want to start a new one. And you may not start a new thread every day or so just because the old one has been pushed to the bottom. Linking to previous threads is fine.

In a few days as a forum member I have seen that many members use the link-to-my-old-thread method and from my point of view this is more effective than being bottering a mod every now and then to get a number of similar threads closed over and over [IMG]

You can also post in WTB threads of that service and place your thread link there.

Er, guys. My signature already links to the post.
Stating the obvious is not very constructive and my question was asked in genuine good faith because I had a query with it. Thanks.

I actually had no problem with Katy's answer. In fact that was the advice I followed not long after she answered. The problem I had was with a couple of subsequent posts that I thought were rather pointless, considering.

    All good answers.

Request the old one closed and start a new one.
