I have a coupe of computers (new, used, etc.); all running Windows XP. It appears that one of them is running a counterfeited version of Windows XP. It's now showing this 'counterfeit' icon on the taskbar(?) at the bottom. What am I supposed to do now? What happens if I don't do anything about this ...???
You won't be able to receive updates. You can change the Reg Key to a valid one that you have, or will be purchasing through the registry. Google it.
I have seen in some warez sites about how to get rid of the annoying icon by doing some manipulations. The better option is to go for original software if you have pirated version. That is safe and legal and you will continue to get updates
Well I just pretty much ignore it if you are using a pirated version it very much a part of your system.
even microsoft is getting strict not only about OS but also to office now 1. before I have windows xp and office for xp for both computers from copy cds 2. then due to strict and genuinie checks, and I want my comp to be up to date, I have to purchase 2 genuine licenses, that doesnt bother me much 3. BUT now recently, after years of success in updates, it claimes my ms office cant be updated and failed genuine test argh
You can find many tricks to bypass the WGA validation As for Windows Media Player, the bypass trick can be read here: Install Windows Media Player WMP 11 and Bypass Windows Genuine Advantage WGA Validation
you must enter the validation code that is issued with the software. if you don't get it, try getting solutions from other sites. i am sure there are sites out there that offer solutions to these problems. try Googling your problem. i am sure you will get an answer.
