Which is better for massive content? wordpress or joomla. It's going to have about 9k+ pages and put on a shared server with massive traffic. Which one doesnt' suck up alot of CPU & memory?
Hi I Use memberspeed For All My Sites, are you doing a open site or members only site cause it works on both levels ive got www.scriptswarehouse.co.uk www.ebookgalaxy.biz www.moneyearner.co.uk all running it one is just open for sales which is the first one the second is a members only site and so is the third one word press is ok for content i think, joomla i think is hard to get used to it at first, let me know how it goes i would like to see it when its finished, and can i ask where would you get your massive traffic from ??
You need to use either Joomla, or Drupal. Joomla would be a better choice if you plan to have alot of dynamic content/media/videos/music
Are you on shared hosting or dedicated hosting ? If shared hosting, I am curious to know where did you host your site ? Because I always heard Joomla is resource intensive.
Unfortunately - NO. You have to spend at least 1 or 2 months to get complete grasp of it. Yes, it's much easier than other CMS
Hi. Joomla is easy to install, modify or to put in plugins or mods. As easy as Extensions > Install > Browse > OK. The learning curve is kinda hard in the beginning but you'll pick it up in about 2days. Current version of Joomla is 1.5.2. I have managed to put in my PhpBB3 and Coppermine to work together with my Joomla so that all 3 will use same user ID database. Lots of extensions/plugins in their Extension section of their website btw. But first, you have to figure out what are the things you would like your website to have, and then go see the available plugins/mods for both Joomla and Drupal and cross out the things that they dont have in your list of "must haves" note: i have no idea about php, but managed to install and get those things running.
