I just recently started playing Hold 'em poker a week or so ago. I haven't played much poker before in the past, but I love card games. I like poker in general because the rules and object of the game is simple, but there's plenty room for luck, skill, and flexibility with every hand of the game. I especially like the gameplay of texas hold 'em because it's more extended with even more chances for betting, bluffing, and hand combinations. What do you think about Poker and Texas Hold 'em?
Trust me, the element of luck is not as large as you may think it. How else can you explain the familiar faces that you see at the end of each major tourney? I love Hold 'em, i'm getting better by the day, have just one a few tourneys last week. Where do you play?
texas hold'em is great but it sucks if you get carried away and end up losing a bunch of money lol...i know some guys that blew $10K CDN in a night.
I usually play at my house or my friend's. I'm playing right now on games.yahoo.com If anybody else wants to join, I'm in Social Lounge, Table 8. my yahoo name's readezarchive I do agree that skill plays the largest role in poker, that's what I love about it. but lady luck is definately hanging around
Ouch! I couldn't agree more. Make sure you know when to stop, I usually play low stakes, so I can't lose that much.
Gambling can get out of control if the person involved focuses entirely on winning the money, and forgets his/her main priorities. When you start to drift backwards because you're losing all your money then that's a bad habit. But I like the game, and the money adds a whole other spin to it. It really teaches you how to play odds and manage your funds
I like draw poker with lots of wild cards. I would typically call deuces, jokers, one eyed jacks, and suicide kings wild to make it interesting.
