I publish a clickbank book and I did a search for my url today and I got the most odd webpage. When I clicked on it, it redirected me to the affiliate's hoplink. HOWEVER, when I checked the cache of the page, it is all filled with nonesense words and phrases. Take a look: xhttp://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:s1X-QMGHamcJ:fukanghuaji.com/iwantateachingjob-com-site.html+iwantateachingjob&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=7&gl=usx (Take off the x at the beginning and end-- I didn't want to give him a free backlink.) What's this all about? Is he using some kind of black hat techniques to get customers? And the same guy has this page: xhttp://atlas26.ath.cx/iwantateachingjob.com/x Both pages rank pretty well on google. The thing I really care about-- Is it going to affect MY sales or MY seo? This page makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't want people finding my site by following nonsense pages. Fortunately, I don't think this affiliate has ever sold a book. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Well reading the above should tell you the answer lol...... SPAM =============================================== If you want someone to promote your book the right way send me a PM. I run quite a few clickbank offers that make me money and can always use another.
I don't think it's going to be problem, and as you've stated "you don't think he's sold any books". If you feel it's a problem, there's something you can do about it. Find the affiliates nick and ask CB to drop it from your campaign.
The affiliate is using a black hat technique ( keyword stuffing) to send visitors to your site. It will not be a problem for you as a vendor. and It will not be a problem for your site also in terms of SEO. There is absolutely no need to worry about it because you are getting targeted visitors to your site from search engines! I think he will make sales for you soon. There is no need to complain to CB about that affiliate because he is sending targeted visitors to your site whatever may the technique he is using. Do not lose your affiliates!
It doesn't look like he'll be making you any sales. I just tried the actual link to his site and got an internal server error. Went to his home page and got redirected to soothsayers-india.com, the affiliate id is active07. Google doesn't like these black hat techniques cluttering up their search engine.
It looks like this site has 7,520 pages listed in google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site:fukanghuaji.com Except that they are all returning an internal error message now. All it would take is for someone to complain to google and all of their pages would be gone.
After doing some more searching on Google, it looks like this affiliate has more sites where he is using these same black hat techniques. Just search for active07 on google. Maybe that is the way to make the big bucks with Clickbank, just keep making more sites using these techniques, doesn't matter if one site gets shut down, there are plenty more to keep bringing the money in.
Fair enough... since everyone seems to agree that he's not a threat to me or my business, I guess I'll ignore it for now. This method of getting traffic does seem dishonest on so many levels. I don't know much about black hat... but I can't say *I'd* feel good doing business that way.
