What is your worst Adsense experience.

Are there any mistakes you made or bad advice you have taken that by sharing would help others learn.

 

Never place your ads on traffic sites or HYIP.
Never market your sites to people you don't know.

 

I made a mistake of not using 336 * 280 ad unit sooner in my site

 

I do not get what you really mean.

1-Traffic is very important for your website. If you do not have any traffic, then you cannot make money.
2-I think you should never know your visitors, because Google will ban you, if your known people click on your ads.
3-If you have a real traffic from search engine, then you are in a good way and you can never be banned by Google.

 

what do you mean never market to people don't know???

 

That was my understanding of the adsense game as well.

 

I've been a little worried about that. I mean...I post a link up to new comics that I put up, and I know people from those forums...but i've never stated anywhere that they should click those ads. and my .33% CTR should be proof of that lol.

 

My biggest mistake is not using this section of the forums more about a year ago.

 

Not optimizing and building links and hence no traffic,no income in the first six months.

 

Never place your adsense sites in autosurf programs

 

I used adsense with mybloglog and I found that it is not allowed.

 

What was the reason for that?

 

I used to display adsense ads on blog with google trademarks in domain. They told me too change domain and now I've no problems

 

My worst experience with Adsense was having to wait a few months to recieve the PIN and not knowing whether it would turn up or not.

A bad mistake I made was closing my Adsense account thinking that because i'd sold my websites and didn't plan on making any more I wouldn't need it, then a month or so later trying to open a new one after making a new site and it taking ages to be approved.
