Aside from compatibility concerns, which I have not encountered yet, after updating my vista to service pack 1, I believe it actaully runs faster than XP did on this computer that has a Pentium 4 with 2gb of ram. Internet explorer 7 loads instantly as on XP it would take 2-3 seconds before IE would come up. After upgrading to SP1 the UAC is a lot faster in comming up it seems like.
Hehe, all this madness and hate... just because is used on 95% of computers (reffering to any Windows version). Why it's been used so broadly if it's a "crap" OS? Think again You can actually turn off UAC if you want to... but you don't want to because you wanna create flame Does someone forces anyone to use Windows? No! Then?
Oh no. I'm about to buy a computer with either XP or Vista installed. I was going to opt for Vista since it's newer. What do you recommend? Any fans of Vista here?
I miss XP, all I wanted at work was a new battery and instead I got a new sony vaio laptop with vista. It sucks. I may switch back soon. The absolute worst part about it is that it crashes freezes for like 5 minutes every time I open a folder. Wonderful Just my added vote that vista sucks.
As far as of my personal experience i will say that "vista" is the worst operating system ever made by Microsoft after windows 95. I hope that they make XP live for a little long time as it is the best operating system mad by them till now.
wow, this thread is making me have second thoughts about buying a new laptop with pre-installed windows vista business. daym.
I don't like Vista much. It is giving me problems from time to time. The system will get better over time.
It's better to try it, and then go for a conclusion. At least half of "Vista sux"-people, didn't even tried Vista
Thats what i thought but i got a dell with vista on it, so now i gotta buy dell xp to change my OS. And i don't suggest someone to buy vista for around $200 just to try it, because there is a pretty good chance they will hate it. There goes your $200.
