Why site ranking after 301 redirect dropped and not the same as previous

My site is completed 301 and major search engines such as Google and Yahoo acknowledge my redirect already. However, it's ranking is not high as it was before, dropped 2-3 positions in all DCs. How to help it retain position as it was before? Please help :)

did you lose inbound links? did you change content? or anything else? did a known 'bad zone/site' link to you?

Title, link structure are the same as previous one. Just a domain that change. I don't know if I lost link juice but 301 could transfer all old link juice to a new one. Am I correct? I already changed many links which pointed to the old one to pointing to a new one instead but not all of them, some I cannot control or ask to update.
