Please review my home energy forum

I created a home fuel search site to try and create a one stop place for people to find all types of fuel oil, pellets, bio, wood, coal, etc. When we built a house recently we didn’t realize how difficult it would be to shop around for this kind of stuff. Unfortunatly with fuel prices going crazy its more important to shop around to find the best deals you can to save a few bucks. Feel free to leave me comments about the site, things you’d like to see added/changed. Thanks!

    The site is Fuelstart.com

    Nice site!

Definitely a nice niche you have there too. My only suggestion would be maybe make some type of rollover affect for those menu items. Besides that it's clean and easy to read, good job.

Visual focal point of the site right now seems to be the 3 boxes in the middle. But these are not clickable and don't actually do anything. I'm not sure exactly how to change things, but you should try to make the visual focal point be something you want your users to click on or do something with. Probably the search area should be the visual focus, so maybe you can move it to the center and highlight it somehow.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will add roll overs. Good tip. Thanks. I also agree with rethinking the three boxs on the front page. I will work on that today. Any other tips?

I like the design, it looks clean and roomy.
What about to make a text font a little bit bigger?

Anyway, good idea for the site!

I like the material, nice that you want to educate others based on your experiences. good niche.
Site is nice, but very brite, it hurt my eyes a bit. Also the bold font is so so, I never liked the bold fonts as such.

but just a few changes and it will be great.

I do agree about the brightness. It seems like each monitor displays it differently. It's really hard to get it just right. Working on it now.

    Thanks!

The site looks good. The forums should be a great tool to find home energy prices once you start getting a lot of posts. Kind of like those gas price watch sites for cars.

Excellent idea for a niche site.

The site itself is good, nice and crisp & clean. There has to be space there to raise the size of text by 1 point.

Also, a good, brash Call To Action is needed, as it takes a minute or two to see what exaclty is going on.

Wow the first site I actually like - a site that with a great idea offering a unique and useful service.

From an SEO standpoint you need to be very careful about dupe content and the supplemental index.

Some of your page titles and content are too similar meaning you will lose out on a lot of SE traffic - I'd do a lot of research into the supplemental index if I were you.

I'd also consider adding individual pages for individual companies ot maximize SE traffic for people looking up particular companies. If you haven't already you need user reviews.

I like how you added the ability to click the 3 main boxes. First trip into the site you might miss the search at the top but making those boxes trigger a search window makes it easier to figure out what you're supposed to do.

I really like the site, functional, easy to use and a great resource for sure.
I have forwarded the link to quite a few of my customers. I export cars to a few hundred dealerships globally!
    Great job!

You have a great idea but you're wasting it with your layout.

Make your main content functional as other users are saying. You also need to emphasize your logo in your layout. It's a cool logo but isn't being accentuated by anything in your site.

Good luck with it, it's a great idea.
