Is it worth it to spend money on manual directory submissions?

I have 6 websites that I want to promote. I found a service that will manually submit them each to 500 directories (500 x 6 sites = 3000 submissions) for around $400. Is $400 a fair price to pay? Or am I just throwing my money away on submission to free directories?

It's an average price, but make sure that it is manual. For that sized job I would charge you $600, spreading it out over a few weeks as to not get yuo busted by the SE's. I would also use your email, so you can verify the submissions and then you will have to do your own confirmations. But at least you will know that the submissions are done.

I guess what I am really trying to ask is.... If I do 500 directory submissions for each of my sites, is it likely that my SERPS and PR increase? Or will I barely even notice that these submissions occurred (other then, no money in my pocket)? I definitely wouldn't expect huge SERP changes because of the submissions, but I would hope that it would at least be somewhat helpful.

Anyone have success from large number of directory submissions?

well, with free, one way links, you will certainly have to go through an approval period, but once listed, sure it will help. Backlinks is a big game to play.If you are expecting instant success, then, no.

outsourcing work that you dont want to do yourself is fine if you dont mind paying for it and if you really don't have the time to do it yourself...

Fair price but why you spend money if you can do that. Submitting 6 sites to 500 directories will be done in 1-2 days.

I've done directory submission for a realestate site of mine (a real site, that sells land/houses, etc, not a splog). I purchased from a few people (none of them located on this forum). I had very poor results, I would not do it unless they offer some guarantee or minimum quality of service.

If the submission is done in the proper category and its approved, thats a way of getting one way links so its an additional backlinks.
