That's it, I don't like China anymore. Mugabe has obviously lost, so what does he do? Buy guns from China. What's even more idiotic is China is actually selling this loser guns - they are about to hold the Olympics for godssakes, can't they just give it a rest and stop pissing off the world? "The controversial cargo packed into 3,080 cases included three million rounds of 7.62mm bullets (used with the AK47 assault rifle), 69 rocket propelled grenades, as well as mortar bombs and tubes. The cargo is, according to the documentation, valued at R9.88 million." Someone needs to kill that guy already. He's running the country into the ground and beating it with a stick. Ever since he kicked out the white farmers there's been no food.
The entire purpose of ISO 9000 and other quality systems are that they proved that "American quality" was a myth, as 3rd world manufacturers were able to meet the same quality standards as western factories. Since nearly everything is manufactured in China now, you can blame them for both low and high quality goods. Besides, I'd rather have an AK than an M16. The AK is reliable.
haha))) Lexi that was a funny post I've read somewhere that there are cheap copies of AK, hungarian I think. So the copies are everywhere nowadays.
they do it because they can allow it, nobody is going to invade them or do any economic blocus. China is safe and so do whatever they want
We use double standards, if the US, Europe or Russia sell weapons to some dictatorship country, we hear no protests. Any spreading of weapons is a crime against humanity.
nah, they're romanian. They are still produced here in a factory as far as I know and they have been producing them for a long time.
M16 is a lot more accurate. The AK is more durable and cheaper. I used both and the M16 is a better weapon.
True, good point. It's just bad timing (or good timing if you're a dictator in Zimbabwe). But look at the latest news!! Group says ship with arms for Zimbabwe leaves South Africa "A Chinese ship carrying weapons destined for Zimbabwe's government left the South African harbor where workers refused to unload it Friday and headed for neighboring Mozambique, an independent human rights group said.. Port workers in Durban and truck drivers had said earlier in the day that they would not unload the weapons or transport them to Zimbabwe. The umbrella Congress of South African Trade Unions applauded the stance by the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union, and reiterated its calls for Zimbabwean electoral officials to release the results of the March 29 presidential election. "This vessel must return to China with the arms on board, as South Africa cannot be seen to be facilitating the flow of weapons into Zimbabwe at a time where there is a political dispute and a volatile situation," the union congress said in a statement." LOL. That kicks ass though.
I would love to have an AK lol. Anyways China will sell to anybody no matter what. That is how they operate. A lot of people are always upset with them but that will not change nothing.
Here's something that I don't think will get much press, much like China's involvement in Darfur and the natural energy reserves at stake in Burma. The way I see it is America and China have entered into a silent alliance. America gets the old English empire; China gets the old French Empire. AKA: If they stay out of the Middle East, we'll stay out of Africa. Russia is particularly annoyed because there is nothing in that deal for them. Europe faces a similar frustration but the leaders can ignore it since their people are more tired of colonialism. India seems currently content with maintaining its borders and advancing through economic cooperation with America & China.
Better tell that to the French. The French have significant forces deployed thoughout the the old French Empire including the Ivory Coast and Chad. The French still have the French Foreign Legion as well as a powerful navy and bases throughout the world. On the other hand, Sudan was part of the old British Empire?
M16 is quite problematic and not as rugged as AK47. Thats basically why nearly all countries' militants are using AK47.
IIRC, Bush did just that, in the Ivory Coast, with our navy when it was on its way toward the Persian Gulf. He demanded that the president backed by French power resign and leave the country...and that's what happened. France & England both had claims until about 1899, but then, France did cede its administrative zone to the UK. I don't think today's maps are exact replicas of the 19th century status quo, but they're a close approximation of it. Of course, I'm not privy to any specific details of a strategic alliance between the U.S. and China
AK47 is a lot cheaper and there are millions in stockpile in Russia and Eastern Europe. The AK47 is a close fighting weapon and highly effective within ranges of 200 meters. The M16 is effective to 461 meters. The French have 1800 troops in Ivory Coast backed by helicopters and fighter jets.
from : http://kalashnikov.guns.ru/wwwboard/board4/messages/2075.html AK-47 vs M16, are they really comparable? Since the AK is ancient history, a better comparison would be AK-74 vs M16 or why not AK-107/108 vs M16. I think I know the answer.....them modern AK's are not for sale
Nothing unusual, China usually sells to countries that shouldn't have weapons. But hey, you can't control the government otherwise you'd get killed.
