Hi, basically im getting underpaid in a newsagent at the moment stacking shelves. I want to quit that and make some cash online.

I was thinking about freelance design but I have limited knowledge with photoshop. Any ideas?

Also can somone explain what a wordpress blog is? How do they make so much money? What do you write in them?

Simple answer: no. If you work hard and are dedicated, then yes. Freelancing can be very profitable online. If you don't have a job you could easily make $50, maybe $100 per day. If you are any good at writing check out the content section of BST.

If you know what you're doing and have the skills then it's easy otherwise it's not. Also, it takes time to get things rolling.

Freelance Designing is good and you can make some good money if you're creative and can make something that stands out of the crowd.

As for the wordpress blog, it's basically kind of CMS and it is easy to use as compared to custom HTML pages. Make a search on Google about it.

Its very easy if you know how - if you don't it can be quite a challenge to learn the ropes.

However a very easy route is just starting as a freelance writer. Write 10 articles at $5 each then you have your $50.

Keep your job until your online income exceeds it and is very stable.

Start a business in a niche that isn't too competetive - hopefully something that you have a passion for.

Market it well and promote the top quality content on the site. In time you'll get that sort of income from adsense, but there's no quick way to be earning $50.

Definitely no. I run two websites that have been professionally acclaimed but have limited traffic despite my best efforts (traffic is increasing... finally, after a year!). I'm getting somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 a week between the two sites. Yuck. And I work about 20 hours a week in addition to another job and being a full time student.

It's possible, but I certainly haven't figured it out yet!

Well freelancing is a way (my main income is from freelancing)

Another way is adsense (curently i make like 400$/month so it's like 50$/week)

And many others :) affiliates selling links

Is easy to make few hundred online (even if your not very skilled but the hard part is when you whant few k's)

The going rate would be 5,000 words to make $50.00. On average, I make about $12.00 per hour doing content writing when the work is readily available and the topics are fairly simple.

Granted, its no way to get rich quick, but if you need immediate results I've found it to be the best option out there if you aren't talented in areas such as design or programming.

Sure, it's a good way to get started - but make sure you invest some of that money back into building some residual income - so you can eventually not have to do so much of the work yourself :)

$50 a week as a freelancer? Definitely. I make around $400-$500 per month doing freelance writing for a few hours per day. I'm sure if you're decent at writing or whatever else, you can make at least $50 a week.

5,000 words for $50 is just extortionate. The only way you can make money from that is by having a team and writing 1000 words each and doing multiple freelance projects each day.

5,000 words on a topic you are not specialised in will be TOUGH and not worth $50.

I agree. I would rather do 10 500 word articles for $50 than one huge article for $50. Doing articles this huge for such a small rate is a good way to get burned out as a freelance writer.
