Dont' get your problems with dell. I have had a PC with them for a few years, it's served me well. Now I have a dell laptop. M1330. 4gig ram, 2.2 core 2 duo processor and a 250 gig HD. All for £800

G4 Powerbook with 1 gig, 800 mhz, a broken hinge and everything I need. Probably get an ibook or (hopefully) macbook model next time, the one thing I hate is having the USB in the back and the fragile hinge.

I don't have a laptop but I am planning to buy one soon. IMO, HP is a nice brand and I would be looking at a configuration of around 2 GB RAM, 250 GB hard disk, DVD Writer, among other things.
