Hi, I am going to do a case study with one of my sites.Its related to health niche.I will be working on it from scratch in regard to getting traffic from search engines and from other sources.I will be using this thread as a case study and will be reporting the stats and all the measures I am taking to make the site getting ranked in google.As I believe that we should not put all the eggs in the same basket,I will try to get some more method to get traffic.I will make sure to report about them too here.ok let me go through the basics of what my site is and what I have done till now and so on!! My site :- How to Stay Fit Traffic Stats till now:- [AW stats] What have I done so for? I have done nothing except getting the site indexed by submitting to google webmaster and by adding a signature here.This got me indexed in 2 days. Then I did few link exchanges till now.I have added google adsense to the site as I want to know how good adsense is with this.I will be posting the income stats as well once it starts making some money!! What will I be doing? I will be working on optimizing the site to rank well for some competitive keywords.At present I am working on getting it rank well for "how to stay fit" in google.I will be monitoring the process and will be posting about it here. As far as SEO is concerned I have not done much so I will work on SEO from now on.I will concentrate on article marketing predominantly as that is bringing in good results as I have ranked well for some great keywords in the past for some sites. As far as directories are concerned I will be using a unique method [LoL i think its unique may be posted in the forum not sure] I am calling it "BD Method".It means Born Directory method,according to this I will be submitting my site to few new directories daily...I will only submit to new directories in the beginning as I believe that people will always promote their new directory and they will work to get back links.This will in turn have some good result to my site!! Also I will do Bookmarking in do-follow bookmarking sites!! I believe they have some instant effect. I will talk about other traffic methods as well as some more stuffs on SEO in the next post!! So my first priority will be rank well for that keyword and few other keywords!!Hope I can achieve it.....as I have achieved some good rankings in the past
Well my first recommendation is forget about marketing your site for one second and think what your site has to offer. Sure you can start to capture extra SE traffic and long tail traffic - but if you really want widespread success you need to start offering real value and work out how you can do it. Content is kind and currently your site lacks quality content that will really draw people in. Also consider getting a decent domain name instead of a second rate .info domain that contains dashes - it is not brandable and will not be remembered. But if your aim is to create an easy low quality site and earn some passive revenue with Adsense (but never anything substantial) then forget what I just said.

The general rule is that it can take up to six months for changes to occur in the site’s rankings. It’s because of how long that change can take to have an effect that you need to exercise patience. There are ways to speed the wait, but not as dramatically as you might like; it will never take as short as even a few weeks. By making a number of changes in a short period of time in order to speed up the wait, you may actually be causing the wait to increase. Remember that waiting is sometimes part of the game, and your site will do fine. Good luck.
Thanks for your advice guys....but I believe that this site is just for a case study and I could not get a .com domain (i had a good keyword in my mind) because someone already took it..... So went for .info Also I dont feel anything wrong in using .info domains. Yeah I do agree content is the king and I strongly believe in that. I have some good contents there and I know that it would take some good time to rank well for competitive keywords and thats why working on long tail keywords as they are bit easy to rank well!!
Its Awstats it can be found in your cpanel inside your hosting.... For the previous poster....I have submitted only one article to 100 article directories till now!!
Update on Link Building for the site:- Today I submitted to three free directories under fitness category with my anchor text.Then I did some blog commenting on some valuable do-follow blogs belonging to my niche!! If you guys wonder where to find dofollow blogs to your niche!! check this one....here everything is arranged category wise!!
Hmm.. even I started as site called dhingamasti just today and building it up.. I thought would first get some content and then promote it.. Will watch your thread closely for sure.. keep posting your case studies
