New to adsense and this is what I've learned.

I've been following these boards for a couple months reading a great number of topics. I created my website a couple months ago, and i'm making roughly $3 a month. So far from reading these boards this is what i've learned.

    1. ) You can make good money from a good niche. However you shouldn't create a new website purely because it's a good niche.

    2. ) You should create a new website because it is something that interests you. I started a webcomic, and while it isn't pulling the big $$ yet, I love doing it, and i love the responses people are giving me.

    3. ) You aren't going to be an internet millionaire overnight with adsense. It's possible that you can be an internet millionaire with adsense, but it requires work, dedication, and passion (just like everything else).

    4. ) Adsense and Google are flakey at best at explaining things that aren't a legal issue to them directly. (Why did 5 people click me and no $$) Best thing I can say on that is ride it out, and see if you get any clicks that actually pay for a couple weeks before firing off that email to Google.

    5. ) Research, Research, Research! There are ton's of tools out there that can help you pull traffic to your site, and help you generate more money.

    6. ) I learned that making ads blend into your site will generate more cash than if they stick out like a sore thumb.

    7. ) I learned that Alexa.com can show your page ranks (Good thing to know if your thinking of advertising your website)

And finally the most important thing i've learned...is that chances are your question has already been answered on these boards and it's best to look for your answer than to repost a topic that's like beating a dead horse.

With that said, hello DP forums! I'm the quiet guy in the corner.

Very nice...welcome aboard. Just keep on keepin and it will grow. If you think your clicks should be higher, look at your ad placement, make some adjustments.

Be very careful about the type of traffic you attract! I lost my Adsense account when I advertised the website in a forum too often...otherwise, you're learning very well! Keep up the great work!

You can lose your adsense account for posting your website in a forum too much?

I generally post my website in a couple forums about twice a week (whenever a new comic is up).

I had no idea that could happen.

"I had no idea that could happen."

I suggest you don't worry, traffic from forums are 100% legit. Your adsense account is safe with such traffic.

can someone confirm this could happen?

unless you advertise in such a way that encourages people to click your ads. if you just advertise your site, i dont see any problem with that:rolleyes:

It is not Google. It is the niche cycle, demand, etc. :)

Alexa.com will show you the Alexa ranking only; while Google toolbar can show you the Page Rank.
