I feel like just giving up

Actually, I will advise a little different.

I think it is alright to give up on Adsense.

Just NOT giving up on trying to make money with other ways...

Adsense needs a lot of time and effort and money, and maybe blackhat methods to make the big cash. But blackhat or spammy methods can get you banned...

For all your time and effort to make a few hundred bucks....I think it is poor ROI on your time.

But I always double check against actual searches in Google. The competitors is with searches with quotes, ie, "blonde jokes" vs blonde jokes. I'll key in everyone of my phrases in Google to see the actual amount of sponsors that pop up.

They have a free search tool here also, that you can sign up for. With any keyword suggestion tool, check and double check by doing actual searches in Google.

I also have a low paying keyword. By playing around with the ads and my site, I get about 30 clicks on the the same 300-400 visitors. It's not a MFA site either, as I built it years ago and just put Adsense on it in January.

Don't be afraid of template changes. I got rid of my right column, put links at top and bottom of the content pane and put ads in every one of of my articles. If you click on a "read more" the full article will come up with at least a 250X250 box. That's harder with a joke site. Add what I call money pages. They are content pages created with keywords in mind. Two clicks on those pages can double the amount you take in per day.

But, I do believe that the content on these pages have to be as good or better than the content everywhere else on the site. I despise pure MFA sites. Before I knew what they were, I always wondered why they came up in my searches.

I'm actually running a 24 hour test with Bidvertiser to see if they pay better. But I'm having severe Adsense withdrawal as I should have anywhere between 3 and 7 clicks this morning and I have nothing!

Build your traffic. Without traffic, all the tweaking in the world won't count. The DP forum has been a wonderful resource.

You definitely can't miss those ads. Hits are different from unique visitors. How many uniques are you getting?

 

Perseverance is a great element of success. If you knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.

 

Try experimenting with different techniques but more importantly, never give up!

 

I was confused. Are the ads the big blank spaces in the middle?

 

I think that it is not perfect to place all your 3 units of ad blocks in first priority before content. You did that on both side bars and on main body.

And you said you get 300 uniques/day and your counter shows 721 when I was there...

 

I only put that counter up on Tuesday morning to see if it agreed with the Google figures. I have no reason to lie and I didnt say 300 uniques although I do hope to hit that. Sorry if it seemed I mislead you.

if your blended ads does not work than make a border of your ads and also try to contrast your page with your ads.

 

buddy if you have 300 visitors a day you may have many clikcs oneday so stay cool.

 

All I can say is to never give up. I got a two weeks blog and I'm not giving up even my all time high is just 50 views in a single day.

 

No wonder why you dont have any clicks! change the ads to large 2 rectangle one up and one down and see the result If you get 3 times of what you getnow give me my share !

 

I think having those two skyscrapers is a bit much. The first thing that projects is those ads. I would suggest a smaller ad unit...maybe a square and then blend the border (same as background).

 

Your ad placement sucks a bit if I must be honest, you must put as much thought into ad placement as you put into creating the site, think of it from viewer point of view. Once your site matures, along with the template which I also think needs some work you'll see the clicks rolling in
