Meaning, is there a special Webmaster Tools feature that I could use or should I just sit and wait for the Googlebot to visit me?

add your blog in your signature. Google will visit for sure. That will help. Try bookmarking sites like digg, propeller, etc.

High quality backlinks will make the google bot visit your blog right away.
You can submit your site to a few good social bookmarking sites (like Digg for example), that will do the job.

The easiest way is to use social bookmarking sites, or create a hubpage/squidoo lens where you put a link to your blog.

If it is blog, you can try submitting your RSS to different RSS directories. That will help you get more backlinks.

    Just my 2 Cents!

easiest way is to submit the front page to digg.com and submit it via their google submit url page. Will be indexed in 1 week or less.
