    I have posted here and got advice from you all which I appreciate. My traffic has really built up and yesterday I actually hit over 300 visits for the first time but not one damn single click. Can you look at my site and tell me if i am doing anything wrong. Btw I have tried blending the ads but it was useless, thanks all and good luck.

    I don't think you understand what ad blending is...

    anyways

    put the ads in the middle of the text so people will read the ads while reading the articles
    (just a half banner, white background and all white text)

    Hi ... you're not alone. There are 1000s, of us, asking the very same question, every day; sometimes several times a day. Don't give up. To boost your spirits, I think I can find space for a brief anchor link, redirecting to your site, on my PR4 front page, for a while. Averages are about 20,000 Uniques, 90,000 page views and about 10,000 back links per Yahoo. Yours and yours alone for the asking. Good luck and gotta support the home land.

    The guy on the very first video on your site says to never give up :). The only thing I've noticed you might try to place your adsense somehow differently. Maybe leave one on the side and the other one move more to the middle.

    Place your ads before your post. By this placement, some visitors a force to click the ads especially if the keywords are the one they look for.

    Iv found that you should be getting 6 clicks a day off 300 visits. Just change the background and boarder colors to white and you will get some clicks, you need to make the ads so they appear to be part of your site rather than a block of ads. Find this bit:

    google_ad_client="pub-4716233681965000";
    google_ad_host="pub-1556223355139109";
    google_ad_width=160;
    google_ad_height=600;
    google_ad_format="160x600_as";
    google_ad_type="text";
    google_color_border="B4D0DC";
    google_color_bg="ECF8FF";
    google_color_link="0000CC";
    google_color_url="008000";
    google_color_text="6F6F6F";

    and change it to something like this:

    google_ad_client="pub-4716233681965000";
    google_ad_host="pub-1556223355139109";
    google_ad_width=160;
    google_ad_height=600;
    google_ad_format="160x600_as";
    google_ad_type="text";
    google_color_border="FFFFFF";
    google_color_bg="FFFFFF";
    google_color_link="000000";
    google_color_url="000000";
    google_color_text="000000";

    I just changed the border and background colors to match your site, white.
    Then changed the link colors to the same as yours, black.

    Hi -

    Try changing the border to a light gray. #EEEEEE

    Change the background to white. FFFFFF

    Because you have images above or next to your ad bar email Google and ask if the borders are a good enough separation. Save this email.

    Try to put ads in the middle of your content if you can.

    And attached is a list of joke keywords, sorted by the amount of advertisers, the number of clicks per month and the CPC.

    Above all have fun and don't get too emotionally attached to one website.

    Blend the ads and use different sizes maybe. Blending means making your ads background same as the background of the site (or the part of the site where the ad is). Make borders also the same color as background and font maybe the same as your other links. Also rectangles usually get better CTR's than skyscrapers, usually :)

    I just had a look at the attached files and it makes bad reading for a funny jokes site. The competition is fierce for not many sponsors paying a low click rate. Thanks for that info, I may not give up but I may try and find another niche. Just curious, where did you find those figures. Also can someone tell me how you take a screenshot of your desktop to post in a posting, cheers all for your help, I am deff learning a lot here.

    i actually think the colours (blending) and positioning is fine. you just need more than 300 visits (are the unique??). you're looking at at least 5000 ad impressions before you get a few clicks...

    Cheer up, mate.

    Your website's layout is built in such a manner that it drags my eyes to the middle content, and I start scrolling straight after. I don't even spot the ads so probably they are useless to me and to a few other surfers on your site. So yes, you've got some good advice about changing the color scheme and moving your side ads to the middle content. Good luck.

    You don't need anywhere near 5000 visitors to get a few clicks. Iv found you can easily get a 3 or 4% click through rate without harming your layout to much.
