$50.00 LOGO DESIGN for “Go for the Gold” Essay Contest Logo

I need a logo designed for an essay contest.

The name of the essay contest is “Go for The Gold ’08”. That is the text that should be used in the logo.

The contest will be an essay contest with participants being 8th to 12th grade high school students. The grand prize is going to be a 1 oz. Gold Coin, hence the name “Go for the Gold”.

The logo can be anything related to: gold, achievement, writing etc. I would like for the event to have a memorable, descriptive symbol. I’m looking for good creative designers to come up with good, professional, creative designs.

The design has to be able to be used in print as well as on the web. Some web 2.0 elements can be used if you like, but stay away from elaborate web 2.0 elements such as: reflection, gloss, etc. Subtle gradients will be accepted.

Possible Color Choices: Gold, yellow, orange, any gold related colors.

This gold coin vector has some good colors: click here
This logo also has a good gold color in it: click here
Any color you come up with, as long as it looks good will be fine, these are just suggestions.

An extra $10.00 will be added for an exceptionally good logo. (In the opinion of the contest Sponsors)

The logo contest will last 5 days starting from the time of the first entry.

If you win, your logo will be featured on: essay contest literature, the essay contest website, banners, essay contest letterhead, and probably on television as well.

If you have any objections to your work being featured in this way, please do not enter the contest.

    May the best designer win!

Not bad, I would like something more "gold" related. Perhaps a gold coin, or maybe a treasure chest with like gold rays coming out of it. Something like that.

Not bad, but it's a little to cluttered to be used as a logo. And remember this logo will be used on both online and offline stuff, so it needs to be less shiny.

I like it, but it's too shiny to be used on paper. we'll be sending out letters to schools and such, asking them to participate, and the letters will need the event logo on them.

I like it, better than the last one, more on the right track. I really don't like the colors taht much. The text is too orange, and the chest should be more bright. Keep up the good work.

I like this one the best so far. The colo0r arround the text at the top[ is a little rough, maybe try smoothing that out a bit. Maybe instead of a pencil you could have a pen? Still open for more revisions.

Not bad, it's a little plain, and it's hard to tell if that's a gold coin or a target. I also don't like pencils, I think a pen would be better. Also how would this look on paper? Too shiny, too many gradients.
