Hi everybody, I just wanted to share my experience with Kontera. Actually Kontera is very good program and their support is also quite good but in respect to earnings I am completely unsatisfied with it. I am not earning even a dollar with the program. Kontera generates 1.2 cent per click almost which is very-very low. When I contacted their support officer, he replied me with the excuse that earnings may vary from time to time and that the earnings actually depend upon the cost-per click rate. It means keywords on my site are so low paying that I am earning such a low from Kontera. But what about Adsense which is making 6 to 7 times more money than kontera for the same keywords. I know kontera is not a stand alone publisher program but it is a good affirmative to adsense. So I just wanders why I am not earning sufficiently with kontera. Also there ads loads quite slowly. I am planning to switch to chitika. If you know any other such network, please tell me.
Hello, I'm from Kontera. I'd be glad to look into your site and see if there's anything that can be done to optimize. We may be able to perform some changes in settings on our end. There are also optimization tips that you can perform on your end. Read about them here. As you heared from our support, it is possible that earnings vary depending on the timing, as the demands of advertisers vary. We'll look into it
Since someone from Kontera is involved in this thread, I should point out that, questions of payments etc aside, I have noticed that for some reason set-up with Kontera seems incredibly slow compared to other ad systems. I placed code in a couple of pages - one took three or four days to start to function, the other simply didn't do anything at all (keywords were not in any way unusual). Are ads - at the least, placeholder type ads - meant to appear very quickly? Or is it simply dependent on advertisers as to whether anything shows up? I do like the Kontera style very much - so don't take this as a rant or anything - just a flagging up of a problem I've personally had. And of course, if this is something others have experienced, it's not going to leave the best impression...
Thanks for your message. I'm surprised to hear that it took so long for ContentLinks to start appearing on your site. They are meant to appear 24 hours after you place them on the site. Perhaps there was a specific issue that delayed it for your site- I'd be interested in hearing any additional details. The ads- of all types are meant to load quickly I'll be happy to help with any other question you have.
Dear Mika, i think you should forward this to the big people in kontera. like assaf and his partners. i started to use kontera 2 years ago .. or maybe little bit more. and yes i made lots of money!! and lots lots of clicks and traffic to get this money! kontera support is great .. ads are good, working fine, payment always on time, etc. to be honest .. they are very good company, and its a pleasure to work with them. but i droped kontera 2 months ago .. because of the low earning !! i got email from the account manger wondering why i am not using kontera anymore, i told them the answer and i tell you the same answer. you guys dont pay much .. kontera pays 0.01 - 0.02 - top 0.05 per click. oh yeah , this is very true . example attached pic, 257 clicks and revenue is : 6.85$ !! which is 0.02 per click! so .. to regular poor publisher who needs to get your minimum payout which 100$, publisher must generate between 5000 clicks to 8000 clicks or even more. oh come on mika !! this is not enough, and i dont think even its fair. and i wrote many times, and your asnwer was the same as usual. i am using adbrite inline ads, they pay per click and pay impression also (adbrite inline ads they dont look fancy and nice as kontera, but they pay 100% to 450% more than kontera), i am not talking yet about chikita and others. i am not telling publishers bad things about kontera, its your image and its your company and its your prices.
I have found Kontera to be a good supplement to other advertisement programs (every penny counts) But you really do need massive traffic to make good money from them.
massive traffic and poor earning ?? !! whats the point ? there always alternative .. masive traffic = massive earning !!
Love to hear about those alternatives ( AdSense Alternatives ) which has your formula masive traffic = massive earning .
Hello, There are many factors that effect CPC, from general market fluctuations to a site's traffic source. At Kontera, we try to accommodate all our publishers in making the highest revenue, while taking into account all these factors. It would be very difficult for me to answer your post without looking into your site, which I cannot trace. I regret to hear that you received answers that were not satisfying and I'd like to look into the matter as soon as possible. Please tell me your site/network's address- you can also send it by pm. Thanks, Mika
Hello Mika, beleive it or not .. i took your advice and i gave kontera one more chance for few days, and guess what ?? here is your low earning !! the truth the revenue is worse than before so please stop making exuses !! kontera = bad earning !! ok and bye for good, you don't need to explain me anything, explain to the publishers who still use kontera and trying to reach 100$ !!!!!!!!!!!!
now almost to be 4 month, and still i did not reached to 100 $ and still my balance is 73 $ lol, too bad earning from Kontera, when i am reached to 100, don't know what time i reached to 100 $ ....... and then i stop using kontera
Kontera is a start up company with a few growing pains. My Kontera revenue seems to go up and down as does all programs. The economy is not so good, so all programs seem to be down a bit. As the company grows, you most likely can expect much better revenue from Kontera. I have been experimenting with Kontera and Chitika Linx. Chitika does seem to pay a notch better, but I have to see if and when I get paid from Chitika. Chitika shows your "unaudited earnings" and I have heard from other Chitika Linx publishers that the "audited earnings" are substantially lower. At first glance it appears that Chitika pays better, but you need to wait and see your audited revenue before making a judgment. Also, Kontera has better site ad relevance, and you have the ability to adjust the Kontera ad link color to match your page. Aside from a tax form issue and a couple of small delays, Kontera has paid me for every month since starting the program last year. And they do seem to genuinely care about the publishers, unlike almost all of the other programs. They also have made great strides since just a few months ago, such as adding the ability to change payment method directly on your account page, as well as adding direct EFT to your checking account. Here is a poll about which program supplements Adsense the best, and Kontera is the winner hands down so far...... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=6572031#post6572031 In summation, based on customer support and the fact that you will definitely receive payment, I say Kontera is a winner and will most likely choose them as my permanent inline text ad program. Note About Amazon Text Links: Make sure not to use Amazon text links on the same page as Kontera. I accidentally had a website that I used Amazon text links on the same page as Kontera. Although Amazon text links are somewhat different in the sense that nothing happens when you hover over the highlighted text, it is still considered inline text ads, which is against the Kontera TOS.
Yes, as I said, Kontera listens to the publishers and cares what we say. Has anyone ever seen someone from Chitika in here? Or Adsense? Ha!!! That would be a shocker!
