Religion is the organized worship of an imaginary friend. The debate whether that friend exists or not is the debate without religion. Thus, I plan to make a topic one day that will be called "The definitive shitfight on whether your imaginary friend is real or not" although it may need to be an acronym.

It is possible to be a scientist and believe in a God, at least believe in a higher power that created the universe. There are many scientists that are religious just as there are many scientists that are agnostic or atheists.

The comments from Einstein about God that I have read have always been in conjunction with discussing the universe, like "I believe God does not play dice with the universe." I believe in that way Einstein was referring to creation as God and not talking about a specific all-powerful individual.

There are some scientists that believe in god, that is undeniable. but you will find a fewer percentage of scientists believe in god than you would find in the general population.

one thing is for certain though, it is impossible for someone to believe in the scientific process as a means for discovering truth and believe in god.
