I rarely park on the street, but I can legally, so since it was a nice day (kinda - for Wisconsin this time of year), I took the Vette out and disappeared for part of the day. I left my Olds parked on the street in front of my house and my neighbor backed out of his driveway and hit it. His wife had made him back the truck out for her because she was afraid of hitting my car, so it was kinda ironic that he would hit it after he knew it was there. It is a tight fit, they have a HUGE HEMI powered monster of a Dodge Quad Cab. However, I was legally parked. Anyway, my wife called me to tell me that the neighbor backed into my car, so when I got home we took a look, did the insurance thing, got a check Saturday and took the car in early yesterday. Should be done sometime this week. This is the third time that fender has been replaced BTW... I was hit in the same place last year, actually T-Boned. That took the bumper, lights, hood, fender, etc... Did about $3800 in damage. I'm really thankful that each time this has happened I am not on my bike.... The cars are a bit more forgiving when they are hit. Bikes are not!!! BTW, my neighbor... No damage. Did not even scratch his bumper.
That is pretty much what he described.. He was like, "hey, did I hit something"... He thought he might have, but was not sure till he looked. Oh well, shit happens,.... that is what insurance is for. Bout' time they pay up for a change.
maybe you can talk the insurance into springing for one of those gigantic 360degree mirrors jic your neighbor ever has to leave his driveway again
sorry about the car mate... it doesn;t look that bad...look at it this way it wasn't the vette...knock on wood i don't get it why would u buy a truck when u can't even drive it, having a gas guzzling truck and going around the town is just the dumbest idea and that's why rest of the world make fun of some americans...!!!...you could use that gas on a fast car not a bloody stupid truck....
I'm thinking about taking mine apart and having the entire frame seam-welded to strengthen the already rigid structure.
She's all fixed up and back home. Yeah, I'm not a fan of big ass vehicles either. Depends on the use. Trouble is, most Americans buy huge ass gas guzzlers and only one person uses it at any given time.
That's the truth. I do have an H3, I however use it when I need it. I drive my Mazda 6 when I don't. Someone in town here though drives a brand new pimped out Escalade, usually by themselves. The kicker is they live in one of the cheapest apartment complexes in town, their payment on the vehicle has to be more than their rent!
Like I said, depends on the use... I have a gas guzzling 10MPG V8 Powered Vette that I use for pure pleasure. My daily driver in the summer is either my Motorcycle or Mongoose. The nice thing about the larger SUV's like the Hummer, are for pulling boats, other toys, or hauling the fam around.... I've got a friend that has 5 kids, and that big ass Escalade comes in handy. But then I also know people that drive the same vehicle and have NO ONE else, and don't use it for pulling, hauling or anything other than pimpin! Ironic you just said that... I seriously said the same thing before even reading the second part of your post. Must be the same guy!!! In fairness to my neighbor with the big ass HEMI, he does get about 18MPH out of it, and does use it to pull a boat.
I'm 17 so my car isn't as fancy as some of yours , but it is deffiantly mine notice the "Steam" License plates lol.
