I don't agree with AGS's insulting methods, nor the many conspiracy theories driving most, it seems to me, of his posts. But I agree with him that this is a failed presidency.

At the heart of this is that this President has defined his presidency by the War on Terror. Yet he has utterly bled whatever nascent effort was underway early on in his presidency to pursue the most ill-conceived war in American history, based on a woefully simple-minded view that transplanting "democracy, Western style" would work in a region with centuries of entrenched, recalcitrant, antipodal interests at odds with the President's Wilsonian prism.

He merely lit the fuse to a latent powderkeg, and he did so quite clubfistedly. All he has accomplished is a bald demonstration of the limits to American hegemony, and a recrudescent antipathy towards America and its policies. Such a debacle has negatively affected every aspect of American life, and we will be paying for the mistake for decades to come.

I very much consider this President a failed president, and his regime a failed administration.

Depends on how you look at it. He's taken out more terrorists in his tenure than probably all others combined. That probably upsets someone like you, but not me.

Remember, you have to keep an open mind. That many terrorists plots have been thwarted, terrorists captured, terrorists killed and in general, terrorist have a harder time accomplishing their obligations of killing infidels like me...well, that might be a disappointment and failure to you, but for someone like me, that's a huge success.

You need to be more sensitive to the infidel. Not everyone wants to have their neck smyted, just because an old book says so.

Sometimes you have to lay it down hard to get it through to these idiots that he has been nothing short of an absolute utter failure.

He has managed to kill more innocent people and ruin more countries during his disastrous tenure than anyone else in recent history.

He has also managed to make the USA (and the West) more hated than at any time ever.

He has been a disaster GT, if I didn't know you better I would be utterly amazed that you are still trying to defend the MISERABLE FAILURE.

I am certainly no angel in this respect, obviously, as many of my posts responding to the ridiculously obvious smears of Obama's candidacy will show, but, no, in general, I don't agree that you win more by just slamming along personal lines than by laying down substance.

Well, pre-emptive war is a war crime.

    Torture violates the Geneva convention.

And the use of chemical weapons is also a war crime.

    And extraordinary rendition is terror.

And attacking civilian targets is terrorism.

Also, violating the 4th Amendment with illegal wiretaps is impeachable.

And IMO avoiding a proper 9/11 investigation is treason.

I can probably think of more if you need them.

Captured and killed? What's your source for these #s?

Yep, and he's certainly a war criminal in his civilian body count.

Ahh yes which all revolves around 9/11. Had 9/11 not happened would Bush have even of gone after a terrorist, on the same token the same could be said the terrorists killed more US citizens and military members during Bush than any other president ;)

If he was truly after 'terrorists' we would have finished the job in Afghanistan and not gone into Iraq..

Yes I agree GRIM but the US wouldn't have this beautiful thing in Iraq if the US didn't illegally occupy it.

"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, scince for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despiceable an ignoreable war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.....

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war." -- Albert Einstein

I guess this is how you justify things such as the three car bombs this morning....I guess Bush was responsible for those, wasn't he?

Did you hear any car bombs when Saddam was in power? He was a brutal dictator, but at least he had his country in check. Bush the monkey is occupying the wrong freaking country. This idiot can't touch anything without braking it. But to answer your question I do blame Bush and his cronies for this morning's car bombings, as if we were not to be in Iraq today, it would not have happened.

    Agreed.

It's really very sad, and for the life of me I do not see how anyone can defend the killing of all those Iraqis....I saw some pics online of some dead kids, and had to click out, just terrible.

If you're talking about torture, national debt, erosion of checks/balances and genocide, then yes, Bush has achieved a lot.

Vietnam was spread over multiple Presidencies.

Clinton killed a lot of innocent people.

It's tough to tell if Bush is a great terrorist, because Iraqis fighting against the occupation of their country, do they count as innocents?

Well, the way I see it is that they wouldn't be fighting each other if Bush hadn't led the USA into this illegal occupation so I guess they do count.

I agree with what you said about Clinton, he killed a whole heap of people too.

And with Iraq O'Bomber, Hitlary Clinton or Insane McWar coming in next this will only continue. :(
