I just read at http://public.icann.org/node/244 that godaddy will not allow you to transfer a domain within 60 days of updating the contact information. I have a few domains I want to offload however I did a bulk change of the contact details on all of my domains 15 days ago. Does that mean that I am barred from transferring any domains from my godaddy account for another 45 days? I am really quite clueless as I remember hearing many different things from different people, and I don't want to sell only to find I can't transfer.
You can't transfer it to another register until 60 days after you changed the contacts, but at least you can push it.
Exactly correct. If you change anything to do with your domain in Godaddy then you have to wait 60 days. Another reason why you should avoid Godaddy if possible.
So is it ideal to update a little contact info and then correct it instantly to safe guard against unauthorized transfers ?
I'd say it's a good idea if you plan to stay with Godaddy. That way people can't transfer out your name that way.
Thanks. Netsol has the same protection. What about Name/Domainsite/Enom/Dotstor/DirectI/Namecheap........etc ? Any idea ?
