I would echo the small dog. Very good at bonding and safe. It will teach responsibility, unless you end up doing all the work!
Just remember that whatever animal you choose, YOU are the one who will end up taking care of it. That's why I suggested a fish or a hamster. If you get a dog, you have to train it, walk it, SCOOP THE POOP! EEEW! Your child will love whatever pet you give them but they are not ready to be responsible for an animal yet.
I guess a little dog is the best idea...hamsters, rabbits don't have long lives, unfortunately a dog is a friend for a long period of time, they can grow up together
For a four year old? Def. a goldfish, when he gets older or the goldfish is not moving, get a fluffy animal
I would say a small puppy. the big one maybe too dangerous but the small one they can play and grow up together.
There are nowadays those robotic fish that are cute and fun to watch, I think that is the best, a fish is still a living creature, and I doubt a kid will be interested after long.
bearded dragons! They are no mean like iguanas (they dont swat their tails) and are actually known to be very good around kids and very trainale to do things like sit on your should, sleep on your chest, etc One of my sites is about bearded dragons because my wife and I own one.
A pet goldfish would be a nice start for a first pet. But if he wants something to play with, a puppy or a hamster would be good too. Maybe with a puppy, he can develop a strong bond with it as they grow older... did I word that right? Hope you know what I mean...
Nice comment But I still go for a puppy or a kitty, a child can play with them while a goldfish he/she will just stare to it.
