i agree , only the costs will be very high in this situation , is not so simple to have 30 domains 15 dedicated ips and a dual , quad core dedicated
it's simply a matter of being properly organised when it comes to running this kind of network... i present manage 2 servers, and while i'm only utilising 7 ips across the two boxes at the moment, the 2 previous servers i had was over 100 domains spread across 2 boxes and about 15 different ip addresses... no problems... btw, can anyone jump on to my test proxy http://devel.hypercloak.com (no ads on this) and try logging in to Gmail ? Pretty sure I've got it logging in and out okay now, but there was some nasty javascript breaking out of the proxy so I'd like to test it more thoroughly...
Check out my new proxy, I just made it today: http://www.defeatblocks.info . However, I just can't decide on the template . I think this one looks great but it has one downside: you can only encode URLs, turn scripts on / off etc when you already entered a URL.. you can't do it before you go to a website. Do you guys think this is a (major) downside or not?
Spring Break Sucks! Also if anyone knew wants help I can make them their first proxy site with a little bit of advertising for $5-$10
In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application program) which services the requests of its clients by forwarding requests to other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server. The proxy server provides the resource by connecting to the specified server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may optionally alter the client's request or the server's response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server. In this case, it would 'cache' the first request to the remote server, so it could save the information for later, and make everything as fast as possible. A proxy server that passes all requests and replies unmodified is usually called a gateway or sometimes tunneling proxy. A proxy server can be placed in the user's local computer or at specific key points between the user and the destination servers or the Internet.
yeah i thought spring break was over. i know australian public schools are out at the moment as thats where i am, as are parts of the uk i believe going on what someone on myspace told me (although that was last week) but i thought pretty much the entire US was back at school now ? i'm getting there slowly. i'm on track this month to serve up something in the order of about 7.5 million page views, and while that may seem like a lot i have some friends that do more, and in one case a lot more... the key to this business (and you should treat it like a business) is the same as any other. lots of hard work with just a little bit of luck and you'll do fine...
i've only been in the business since september last year really, so i've got no idea what to expect... from what i've been told generally one can typically expect traffic to drop off by between 30% and 70% from normal levels during summer break, so i'm focusing my efforts on bringing in more non school related traffic so that i won't see too big a drop. uk traffic is actually really well paid on most networks so it's worth going after if you can target it, and international traffic while hit and miss is simply a matter of very carefully watching how much you get from certain countries (china, iran, turkey) and whether or not it pays well enough to cover what it's costing you to host them...
Never heard of ProxyPrime.com what is it? (tried to look and the website is offline).. PHProxy will work fine, but won't load any videos ect.
im new to proxies. And i just bought a domain and im starting a proxy site. I made a template and im wondering about the templates for proxies. Ive never seen a proxie site with a good complex design. Do you not want a nice design? Should i just have a simple design? This is part of the design i made...... http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/489/sampleft0.png Is this too much for a proxy? Please help me proxy masters lol. Thanx a bunch for all your help
i think you should read this thread from the beggining, you can find a lot of informations and answers to your questions
glype and zelune.com have a plugin for youtube, and cgiproxy supports it natively. phproxy can also be modified to work with youtube, but you'll need to either find the code (youtube changed their site last week) or be handy enough with php to modify the glype code to work with phproxy...
