Will the Coming US Recession Affect Adsense or Affiliate Revenue?

    I'm kind of worried.

If it affects retail sales then it will no doubt affect online spending as well, this is simple logic.

    Please discuss.

It has been affecting .. The trend in US economy is down, and will be down for some time. Weak sales data, weak jobs report.. everything weighs on the overall performance. So we just need to be patient.

Hold on to your pennies, they are going to become more valuable in the future.

I'd say exchange your pennies, they might be worth crap tomorrow. It will most likely affect everything, it's already hurting international publishers badly.

Retail sales on a downtrend - so likely to affect retailers both on and offline. However, I think that measurable sales channels like affiliates and adsense will fare far better than conventional advertising. I think the most important thing to remember is that the money is still there to be taken - and people who are at the top of their game will likely still do well during a downturn.

I think big advertising companies will change the currency and the "next USD" will be the euro. USD worths less every day and for example online poker networks realized this.

Yes but new opportunities will arise, like a growing demand for debt control services, refinance, and second hand goods. New doors will open, just have to keep your eyes open.

I myself was thinking the same. If sales goes down, advertisement budget will go down which will affect everyone. Since the highest paying words in adsense are product keywords, this can make some dent in earnings but than again, tis too premature to say this all.

I agree with sydneyaus, some areas will suffer but others will do better.
