Hello, I have a page with a bit less than 400 words. What would be the best keyword density for my site start page? Thanks, Yoel
Keyword density doesn't really matter much. It's important to have consistency. If you mention the keywords/phrases you're trying to go after a few times on each page of your website, you'll be fine. I would mention the main keyword/phrase once in the Title, once in the H1 tag, once in the Meta Description and Keyword tag and once in the alternative text of your images. That of course is for each page in your website. I would never exceed 20 - 30% keyword density on any page or else it might start looking spammy. These are just my opinions and best practices. Good luck!
I don't think that this keyword density contributes to SEO. just concentrate on giving the web surfer what he or she wants. Forget about the search engine bots. work for man not for bots
No problem. I did some analysis of many websites ranking for really competitive one and two word phrases after your question. I found that most websites that rank well on Google have between 3 and 6% keyword density. I'm not sure if this means much, but those are the numbers. I have one site that ranks for a very competitive one word term and my density is 11%. Hope this helps.
hi friends, i havel tour&travel related site plz any preson how to increase website traffic and top10 rankings for this (india tour, india tour operator, indian tour)etc tragget keyword.so new techinc keywords& all web site optimization. Plz right and qucik answers. Thanx
Try to write as natural as you can. Don't concentrate too much on Keyword Density, anything between 3-5% is really good.
However, I've seen sites with density over 10% appearing in the first 3 spots for major terms - so there really is no benchmark. I just live by the rule of "if it looks and sounds like spam, it probably is".
I try to write naturally. for me this gives about 5% keywords but this may be different for other writers.
Technically, keyword density is a useless factor when doing on-page optimization. Instead of getting all into this myself I recommend anyone willing to "expand" their knowledge beyond the pile of mis-information that gets around then read this article by Dr. E Garcia: Keyword Density of Nonsense
I agree. In my earlier post I was trying to say just write naturally about the topic on the page. For me this tends to end up with about 5% density. Unless I had a large number of keywords (which might be self defeating) the text would begin to look very spammy if I attempted to force the density up.
