Hey guys I have been building sites for a long time, I am olds school, you know plain html stuff, it works great, I can get 1 backlink for a html site and its indexed within 7 days, and it gets fully indexed (i.e 40 pages) within a month BUT...

Wordpress blogs do not work for me, I build a blog, add title tags, meta tags, get backlinks and the search engines DO NOT INDEX THEM.

Am I doing something wrong?? is there something special that needs to be done to get wordpress blogs to get indexed fast??

    Please help thanks.

Yea but that is my point, with my other html sites all I needed to do is create the site, get 1 or two links and my site was indexed in a few days. Why do Wordpress Blogs are not naturally indexed just like any other static site??

I'm getting this problem also. After I've upgraded to Wordpress 2.5 everythings going down hill with indexing. I could get 1 link back from any site and I would have my wordpress 2.3.3 blog indexed withen hours or even less.

Did you enable the privacy option, which adds the noindex, nofollow META directive to all your blog's posts and pages?

OK My bad, my front page is already indexed but the bots do not index any inner pages, I am still using the older version of wordpress and its not set as private, I have also submitted stories to digg and others but the results are still the same, this happens to all of my blogs not just one of them.

Anyone else want to help me? thanks

I did, my article title is first result on google for the digg article, but my website's inner page wasn't found on google for that. Somethings up with wordpress 2.5 I'll recheck that privacy settings.

Thats checked and still nothing also, I feel like I'm in this same situation.

Be patience. With such huge competition on the web you'll need a steady supply of backlinks to continue being indexed.

Don't just aim for 1 backlink.

use your DP sig link, its great for getting a site indexed.

Is your domain dropped (Expired) domain ? Check the history of the domain ....

I had the same problem. I bought one previous which was dropped. It was banned by Google previously. I requested Google to reinclude my domain and after few weeks everything worked fine.

Well, how long is your blog? It's funny because I just created a new WP blog and it's already indexed in Google. You could try to get the sitemap plugin but I think my blog was indexed prior to me using it.

    One possible solution is:

    1. Login to Wp-Admin
    2. GO to Settings
    3. Go To Privacy ( Under Settings)
    4. Select: I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers

    5. Save Chnages

    Hope it helps.

I've experienced this before - I get my blog listed in SE due to my submissions to blog directories and social bookmarkers, but not through google / yahoo suggest URL. I found my blog to be listed about 3 weeks later - I dunno, but what mikey1090 said is probably the most accurate explanation.

Google bot has it's own mind and complex decision making ability :p LOL

Just be patient - Google wouldn't pass a blog with original and good content, don't you think?

    Cheers

Like most have said be patient. It will eventually get indexed, but if you want to speed it up you can submit a sitemap. After a while googlebot will start visiting more and you will be able to get indexed faster. One of my blogs often get news posts indexed within a couple of hours.

Very strange, Google loves Word Press blogs.

1.- Add more Ping Services, by default only pingomatic is included.
2.- Submit your feed to RSS Feed Directories
3.- Submit your sitemap to Google Sitemaps (there's a few WP plugins to create sitemaps)
3.- Add your blog to some social bookmarking sites

My WP blogs are indexed in a few days using this technique
