When you click on a link unit, it will bring you to a page of ads. Do we, the advertisers get paid when they click on the link unit. or do they have to click on the link unit and then an ad.
You mean publisher right? A click on a link unit doesn't bring you any revenue if the visitor doesn't click again on a link inside the search results. So a visitor has to click twice. Once on the link unit, and once on a sponsored link (btw. the links are all sponsored in this case)
Basically it involves 2 clicks before its worth anything to you, for some reason, on one of my sites the visitors tend to go for the link units more than anything.
In my case the link units are performing better than the other ads, how much they pay depends on the keywords you're using.
Link units are easier to blend so often they get more clicks, but they still have to click twice, which may cancel out the easier blending of the link units.
So when my channel says I got 7 clicks on soandso domain and 49 cents, could that be only two out of 7 users actually click the ad "twice" on the link units?
that would be an ad unit without descriptions.umm.... what would you rather pay for advertising, something that looks like an ad or a link? come again? the clicks that are counted are the same as ad units. it doesn't count clicks on the links.
Links units seem to be receiving more clicks than other ads . The CPC varies . For example a 4 ad link unit has 4-6 ads per Link so you can do the maths
For some of my websites my link ad revenue equals my regular ads revenue so its definitely well worth putting these ads on your site.
YOu need two clicks with the link units. I prefer putting the link units above a wide skyscraper. I think this increases CTR.
