I'm just wondering really, there are so many registrars these days, and Godaddy seems to be the most popular one I've seen, but there seems to be so many people complaining about how bad they are.

If you don't, why not, and who do you use?

    Thanks,
    Jake Ruston.

I am from Singapore and one day years back I was informed by GoDaddy that they no longer accept customers from Singapore and at which point I left. I am not sure if they changed the policy or not but I am no longer going back.

The order process is not something which is user-friendly and they try to upsell you everything by pre-checking on those options in the light that you may overlooked those and get charged more for things you may not use. Also they are pricier now then their alternatives.

I use GoDaddy because most people do. But the customer tech help is horrible.

GoDaddy's prices for registering domains seem to be the only good thing about them - alas, I still use 'em:rolleyes:

I have some domains at Godaddy, but I have more (and only register new ones) at Dynadot (Dynadot.com). I just got super annoyed when I called GoDaddy to ask them a question and they were super rude.

But the worst thing is that GoDaddy tries to sell you 50 trillion other things instead of just a domain that I wanted. No thanks.

I use godaddy for .info domains as they're only $1. Otherwise I use namecheap.

Hi ... I use godaddy.com mostly for buying domains. Hosted, with it, for a while, but a weird circumstance, regarding a large data base, forced me elsewhere. It seems godaddy.com could handle the data base, but couldn't first load it. Strange, isn't it? Akin to a room that's big enough to hold your piano, but the door is too small to get the piano into the room. godaddy.com support is good these days, but there was a time it was horrible; guess runs in cycles. Hope this helps.

For domain registration, GoDaddy is excellent. I've been with them 3 months now and have yet to encounter a problem. I would not use them for hosting, as I am satisfied with HostGator, but for cheap domain registration, they're great.

I have also used GoDaddy for registering a domain and I have found their service is alright. They do try to upsell you on other features like buying multiple versions of your domain as well as privacy or other features, but overall they have been OK for me.

I use them exclusively as a registrar, but I've heard their hosting is horrible (never used it, though).

Well...I use Godaddy for domain registration only. Never used 'em as a host. After what I've heard today, I may NEVER use 'em as a host. But as a registrar they're okay.

And yeah, Godaddy does try to up sell you a million things, but I'm so used to that up sell crap that I just ignore it.
