I have taken a lot of time to write up articles regarding forum development. Where would it be best to submit them to? What are some good article directories etc?
Does submitting articles really help in promoting a site, I heard that the traffic you gain from such a pursuit isn't really worth the free distribution of the article.
thanks it depends on the person. i have a lot to say so writing articles isnt such a problem for me, but others struggle. as regards to it's importance for backlinks and so fourth - you're getting free, relevant inbound links for not a great of effort. this alone makes it an excellent marketing source

Ezine articles will put your article to the top of google search if the keywords are fairly unique. Best site out there for sure.
Ezinearticles is the best in my experience, articles I submitted always rank better than my own site.
So when you submit an article, do you integrate small words which link back to your blog? Is that how your suppose to gain backlinks etc?
Don't make certain words in the article all link back to you. You get you backlink by using the resource box at the end of the article, link to your site using whatever anchor text you wish.
It depends on each policy of the article directories, some directory only allowed links in the author bio, the other allow links in the articles. You should read their policy before you submit.
