I have a fairly new pet website whose aim is to provide quality content to users. I had $80 to spend and have already spend $30 on two articles however I mostly write my own articles (most are 1000+ words). The site is going well and had pretty average rankings in google for the keywords of the articles that are currently uploaded. It does not have a PR yet but I have been submitting it to blogs. Currently it gets 3-5 visitors each day mainly from google and wikipedia and the users seem to be interested in the site and have an average of 5 pageviews. My question is how should I invest this $50. I want to mainly increase traffic and/or get a PR. edit: I might spend $15 here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=750894 on directory submission.
yeah, I don't really have a big budget for my site although I will be reinvesting all the profits that I make.
I would say keep developing using free methods. Once you have a better grounding , then look to spend on something more sustainable. 50$ won't get your far, you just need patience at this point.
For maximum exposure, I would get someone who does 50+ stumbles for $$ to get listed. Do 100+ directory submissions. Do a hub and squidoo page. Also maybe go for top sites submissions.
ermm 2 articles for $30? that's rather expensive, I am willing to do 2 articles for $15, or even cheaper if you are interested hehe... i think it will be more worth it to use that $50 to get a good design for your site, create your own brand and a matching attractive banner/graphics, don't think much SEO and directory submissions will help your site much if it is new and currently averaging only 5 visits from Google...
I think you should avoid buying links for pagerank purpose. So save your money or buy some directiory submissions. Best Wishes!
You can get some Directory Submission for $20 or so and then get 5- 500 words article written($20) and with remaining $10 you can get some links for your site..
Yeah, I'd use the money to buy links from paid directories of a decent PR. Don't bother spending the money on freelancers to write content for you, as you don't have the cashflow yet to sustain new articles from them on a regular basis.
Why not take that $50 bucks and buy low cost keywords on Google Adwords? It will be highly targeted traffic...just make sure that you grab their info so that you can email them later and sell them your products through email. Or you can take that 50 bucks to rentacoder.com and have someone write more articles for you for A LOT cheaper than what you've been paying. Submit them to an article directory, linking to your site.
maybe you can by a reviw at a good blogger ( with high PR and have a good travic )... it's just another the way out for you.
Don't waste your time on cheap directory submission services they don't work. Usually automated so your stuff doesn't get through anyway (they may say manual but how will you know). Also if you submit the same description you'll get only a handful (about 5 max) recognized backlinks as the rest will be discounted as dupe content. Spend it on 10 articles at $5 an article - easy enough to get people writing for you at that rate. Content is really what will drive your site's success. Do the promotion work yourself to learn the ropes. You'll waste money otherwise.
