Does having permanent subscribers to a blog/site help with SEO?

Say i had no work at all on SEO, and i had 1000 subscribers. Would the site/blog rank?

Im looking forward to some detailed responses.

A well optimised site/blog ranks well, not the amount of users/subscribers.

Its all about the content and structure of the site, if this is good then you should rank well

The search engines don't know how many subscribers you have. If this was a factor then people would be doing black hat SEO by creating numerous subscriptions to their own blogs.

    My problem is pricing.

My blogs are like PR0 and it has 250 subscribers. And the PR2 blog has 500 subscribers.

Im really indecisive on a price for text links and the banner at the top.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers

It dosn't depend on subscribers to much (subscribers maybe can give some backlinks but it won't help much)

However if you have a lot of subscribers, this means you ve got some traffic, this however means you can turn this traffic into income. Mayebe some affiliate marketing, but thats off topic.
Anyways if you have great articles, its possible, your subscribers will link to them and you will gain pagerank.

For starters, the PageRank data you're seeing is stale - usually 3-4 months old. Wait for the next PageRank update to give you an idea of how "popular" your site is becoming. As the others said though - focus on getting people to read to your blog and subscribe to it. PageRank has nothing to do with this since it all depends on writing quality content that people will enjoy, want to linkk to, and generally find useful. Even then, if you've written the best article ever, nobody's going to know about it unless you get out there and promote your blog. In other words, get out there and interact with other bloggers. Leave comments on their blogs (as long as they're constructive and are not spammy) and establish a reputation as a decent person on those blogs. Eventually people will start to recognize your name and will be more willing to "click that link" and see what your own blog has to offer.

But don't forget to write quality content as well - after all, if what you write is garbage (not saying it is, just using it as an example), it'll be buried alive in the SERPs. If you write something that actually contributes to the community, then you'll be far more likely to rank well for it.

Subscribers have NO effect on your search engine rankings.

The first part of SEO is page optimization. Basic steps included in onsite optimization are:

    1) Find best targeted keywords relevant to your business
    2) Make title and meta tags relevant to your web page theme
    3) Content optimization and internal linking.
    4) Use of h1,…,h6 tags for heading
    5) Create a site map
    6) Use title and alt attributes that include targeted keywords.
    7) Make robots.txt file.

Once onsite optimization is completed, offsite optimization is started. Here are some basic steps for offsite optimization:

    1) Directory submission
    2) Article submission
    3) Link exchange
    4) Press release
    5) Social bookmarking
    6) Blogging
    7) Forum posting

For online business, content is the most important factor. Having informative and interesting content in the website will entice frequent visits by more visitors. This also helps you to get quality back links easily, as quality back links are most important factor in search engine optimization. Once your site gets higher ranking, it will start getting more targeted visitors and your ROI will increase gradually.

It is not about the amount of the subscribers more about how active your subscribers are so that your site gets updated with fresh content -the search engines like new content, this will up weight you and it will also ensure that the engines comes back more frequently to your site
