Does the name of a site have much effect on SEO. I mean as a site owner we all want people to just clcik and land on our pages rather than typing the url. So is a long domain name that bad
I don't think a long domain name is that bad. As a matter of fact, my own domain name for my blog is four keywords separated by dashes. Works just fine for me.
It does not effect so much. Depend up to you. But somewhere it has small weightage. So you cud go with long domain name. Because if people search your site through search engines they wud not type your domain name. So take domain name which suits your business.
If you are looking for traffic from Search Engines then obviously it is not bad, even some times it is good to have different keywords in domain name. The only difference which it brings is at the time of selling, if you want to sale your domain then you might face some problem in case of long domain name.
you are not at a fall if you use long domain name. infact <longdomainname> is better than <shortdomain> since if a user types any of the three keywords you use in your domain name, your site is gonna have appeared in the SERPs. so dnt worry. jus go ahead
I agreed your one point if you say keywords in URL is help to get ranking then it is correct but if you are saying longdomin name is better then short URL then it completely wrong. If you have short URL den you can promote that site of many keywords it doesn't mean that you can promote only one keyword.
in a long domain you can stuff a lot of keywords, however users will have a hard time typing/remembering it. So make it catchy. I personaly dont like domains with "-" Sometimes i just can not remember where the hypen was
Domain name, you should choose as per people can easily remember it, Generally for getting keywords people uses long domain names, But believe me, you can choose domain name of your name, and still that could be in good rankings,
Yes you're right, in my experience, we can add keyword in the domain name with the directories so the url will contain keywords. Also remember to keep it easy to remember, and brandable.
