Impressions are page views. Each time someone loads the page in their browser, it counts as 1 impression. Clicks occur when someone clicks a link with their mouse cursor.
Impressions are the number of times your banner ot text link displays on your site. So everytime the page loads its another impression. Click are when the user click on the banner to go to the merchant's site.
An impression is when a visitor comes to your website and the page is viewed by the visitor. In other words impressions=visits. They can be repeated or unique (when a new visitor comes) visits. A click is when your banner or text ad is clicked on. Some advertisers pay either per click or per sale/lead. Hope that helps.
What I don't understand is how I have had 113 unique visitors this month (according to my hosting stats) on my baseball site yet me eBay reporting shows only 3 impressions. I modified my eBay feeds on April 1st and my correct campaign id is appearing on the links. Also, each visitor must have clicked on other pages, all of which contain eBay feeds for various keywords, because there has been several hundred page views this month. Is it possible the reporting has not yet been updated for April? I should also mention I am fairly new to eBay as an affiliate. Maybe using RSS feeds doesn't trigger the impressions counter? I use CaRP to read and display the feed.
The only eBay items I display are via RSS feeds. The eBay reports are registering clicks but not impressions. I am now assuming the listings generated by RSS feeds do not count as impressions. I'll look into adding a link just so I can start getting a count of impressions. Thank you.
