I have 50,000 backlinks and still have pR4. There are many large company sites that stay at PR4. Must be some secret to this...
According to your statement, spending $299 to be listed in The Yahoo Directory which has a PR of 7 will get you a PR of 5. Do you agree with this statement? Can you prove it? Thanks
You may have to purchase backlinks from websites with high page ranks, if you can get 1 page rank 8 backlink your site will probably become page rank 5 or 6.
Thats absolutely NOT true.... You can get a PR 8 for free... I know it cause I know people who got PR 8... How? Truthfully, they have absolutely unique contents which people links to themselves and he never worries about PR. If you give to the society, honestly somehow google realizes it... (and I dont mean writing articles or just designing) and rewards you with what you deserve... Dont worry bout PR, if you are clean and if your way of doing things are clean and if your content is really useful to the society as a whole... you will get a PR 5 with time... Trust me!
I have been a 2 for sometime. I am not greedy but I would like to be a 4 or 5. I think that will do it for me. I am open to all sound proven ideas. Thanks
A PR5 is considered difficult to many, but it is still not impossable to get. You'll probably need several high ranking links (in the area of PR6 to 8) to get a PR5. I once had PR5 in several internal pages... *PR4 can be obtained if you put in some effort into link building.
I read on Aaron Wall's SEO Book that being listed on Yahoo Directory even has some detrimental effects. I'll see if I can dig up why and post it here
PR4 is really easy to get. PR5 not as easy as it used to, but still very achievable. When you run a network and have some successful sites it's very easy to get high PR for new sites.
I got a PR5 once. The site was a general resource with only an okay domain, but the site gave the impression of being a big company and ended up with 50'000 odd links in about 2 years. I didn't have to do hardly anything link-wise. But that was achieved around 2.5/3 years ago, and it's really hard to do this again, even with my specialised site! I reckon Google is reducing site PR for some reason, so now unless a site is top notch and unique, many will find this very difficult without paying for links.
These days PR 5 is tough , in past years it was easy , PR 5 is more like what a PR6 used to be, as an earlier poster said -- don't waste time with trying to get backlinks via bulk directory submissions etc . For instance I know of a forum that claims to have 100,000 backlinks and is showing PR 5, whereas I know of a website showing around 7 backlinks with a PR 5 , the jury is still out on whether forums and BB's are handicapped ( are negative weighted by Google )
It's tough to maintain PR5. Many of my PR5 sites stayed there for years- until december last year and they dropped to PR3
Hi, if you could kindly pm me this site your talking about, with 7 links thats a PR5. I find it hard to believe. I only got a PR4 after submitting to yahoo directory, botw, joant, exact seek and a bunch of other top paid directories, and 1000's of small directories and 100's of articles, bookmarks etc. To the OP its not that easy to get a PR5, as you can see some of my paid directory links, and my site only got a PR4. This was a one shot PR update, i went from n/a to PR4 last December. Btw, Im doing all this to get higher rankings for my targeted keywords and not for PR purposes, not saying pr is worthless. Good luck......
